TRIP TO TONGOLIKI

Last summer my cousin Laura and I took part in a project that lie in collecting toys that the children from Spain didn’t want and go to a town called Tongoliki, in Africa, to deliver them.

We were very excited because we wanted to give toys to the poor children. Laura and I went with a group of an organization collecting toys all over Spain. A lot of people participate donating the toys that they didn’t use or that they didn’t want.

We had everything ready: The toys were being sent to Africa, our packages were ready and we were impatient to leave. We had to wake up very early but we didn’t mind because we were so excited. When we woke up we realised that we had slept more than what we should.

Laura phoned a taxi and we went as soon as we could but the plane was leaving in two minutes and the door was closed. We explained why we had to take the plane and the crew of the airport opened us the door. Finally, we could arrive to Tongoliki and give the toys to the children of Tongoliki. After seeing all the smiles of the children we returned home very satisfied.

It was a hot summer day in Los Angeles, and I was giving an interview to MTV because of my new film, but the interviewer started insulting me saying that I was a terribly bad actor, so I decided to leave the TV studio.

As I left the TV studio, an immense wave of journalists pounced on me but, a pretty policewoman took me out of all that mess. She was a wonderful woman tall, blonde, blue-eyed... and, as I was a famous actor, I asked her if she could bring me home and she accepted. It seemed::text like the night could finish very well when, a van appeared and four, strong and very scary men with guns, went out of it. Without giving us time to do anything, they shot to the policewoman. They covered my head and put me into the van. During the trip, they told me that I would be killed if I did not give them what they wanted and obviously, I didn´t know what they wanted! I was very afraid!

After a short time, the van stopped, and they put me into a room.
I realized that they turned on some lights, and that they pointed me with a gun. I thought that they were going to shoot me when... they took away the bag out of my head and I saw that I was on the MTV´s studio! I saw the policewomen and the men who had kidnapped me. The MTV presenter came to me and said that it was a joke of his programme. I didn´t know what to do and I started laughing. Luckily, it was just a joke... but I am afraid of Los Angeles.

loteria.jpgA LOTTERY TICKET

One year ago, I bought a Christmas lottery ticket. I didn’t expect to win, so when I lost the ticket I wasn’t very upset, but when I saw the number of the winner, I remembered that it was the number I had.

Everything started when I was in Bilbao doing the shopping for Christmas Eve. I saw a lottery ticket in a kiosk, and I decided to buy it, just to try. I continued with the shopping and when I arrived home I told my parents that I had bought a lottery ticket, and they told me that it was almost impossible to win.

When the TV announced the winning number, I realised that the number was similar to mine. When I opened my purse, I couldn’t find my ticket anywhere. I searched for it in my room, in the kitchen... everywhere, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I didn’t know what to do, but I was almost certain that I had won.

After searching for it many hours, I finally found it in my moneybox. When I found it I saw that it was the number of the winner. I was terribly happy, I couldn’t believe it! The next day, I went to cash the check. It was pure good luck.

3: A Wonderful trip to Italy

Exactly a month ago, my grandmother and I decided to take a trip to Italy. As my grandmother  is very adventu

rous and my dream  was to travel to Italy, we decided to spend two weeks there. My mother wasn't very convinced with the trip, but my grandmother and I quickly convinced her.

We took the plane in Madrid, and in a short time, about three hours,  we were in our destination. That day was very hot, so we took a taxi that left us in  the hotel. We ate there and then went to the swimming pool. Days went very fast and we were having a nice holiday. Even though my grandmother is an old person, she was every moment with the desire of doing new things: visiting museums, going to Siena and the  Vatican,  having a gondola ride, having lunch in Tuscany ... Everything was great.

But a cloudy morning, we decided to go to the market they  put every Sunday in Rome. The market occupied the entire Gran Via, you could find everything from pasta to masks. We were several hours walking and buying things. Then we went to eat to a restaurant and finally decided to take a last look at the market. I stayed in the vegetable section talking with the saleswoman, while my grandmother was trying on Gucci sandals.Suddenly a man dressed in black with his face covered  appeared and  knocked me down, stealing  my handbag.I couldn't believe it!.I was alone on the floor in pain and all the people looking at me when a young man with blond hair and amazing eyes appeared. He said looking into my eyes:

- Are you okay?

Then I got up and he helped me to find my grandmother. After finding her  we went to the police to make a complaint. We then went to a coffee shop. The man  told us where he was from, how old he was... and something else. He finally invited my grandmother and I to have dinner at his house with his family. The boy was very nice and also very handsome. We spent the next days together and he accompanied my grandmother and I to visit Italy. Everything was going great.

Now he has come to spend Christmas with my family. I'm very glad I travelled to Italy with my grandmother, because thanks to it I have known Daniele. I am completely in love with him and we have thought about travelling to Thailand at Easter.

4: Malta's heaven

Heaven

English, meeting people and sports. These three things are the most rewarding to me, they mean everything in my life. So, the summer of 2012 I decided to go to Malta, where I started an English course and enjoyed my own holidays without my parents. Malta are three small islands located in the Mediterranean, because of that, it is one of the most attractive destination for having a great time, doing water sports and learning english. That’s why I chose it!

When I landed I was totally surprised. Before going to Malta everyone told me it was the best place on Earth and so I imagined, but when I was there it was much better than what I had expected. It was perfect! The first days I met people of 50 nationalities, I went scuba diving in Malta’s incredible beaches and I had a spectacular time with my new friends going to parties.

Suddenly, after two weeks in Malta I felt sick, due to the temperature changes between outside and inside. This caused me tonsillitis, sore throat and sinusitis. Consequently, my week became a real madness because I couldn’t finish my advance diving lessons. But after going to the doctor and buying some medicines I started feeling better.

Finally, in my last week everything went well and I had the best time of my life. I got my degree and I finished my week going to AVICII concert, one of the best Dj’s in the world. There I had the most fascinating moment in my exciting experience at Malta.

5: Once in France

Two years ago, I went on summer holidays with my family to Lyon -France- for a week. They were nice holidays because something happened that improved our vacations.

First, we rented an apartment for a week by Internet, near the downtown of Lyon, which was to ten minutes from it. The apartment was lovely and cozy. When we arrived at the apartment in the morning, we left the baggage there. Then, we went to have lunch to the downtown of Lyon. After that, we went sightseeing and did some purchases. We visited the town for two days.

On the third day, we went in a trip to Marseille, because we wanted to visit the town. It was a lovely town, but there we had a problem. Suddenly, while we were drinking something in a terrace of a bar in Marseille, a thief took my mother’s handbag, where she kept a money pocket with the only money we had for holidays and bank cards. Then, my mother quickly canceled the cards. However, the problem was that we hadn’t money.

Finally, we returned to Lyon, to the apartment, and then I saw a paper on the floor, it was a lottery ticket. I picked it up and we went to an establishment to see if it was awarded. It was awarded with 1000 euros! This event solved our problem. We were lucky! It was a very good feeling,::text like being in heaven!

7: My first voyage to Hawaii

I was 20 years old and I had never traveled because I was afraid of it.When my boyfriend told me to go to Hawaii  for our honeymoon,my first answer was “no”.I thought about it for a week and all my family told me it would be an unforgettable experience,so I decided to go.
I was very nervous but I was ready to go to these incredible islands in Polynesia.
Our  plane trip lasted 10 hours so I had to take some medicines to sleep and to be calm.I woke up with the sun that entered through the window of the plane and I knew we had arrived so,we collected our bags  in the airport, and we waited for a taxi destined for our 5-star hotel.
In just a  few minutes we were in the hotel. The hotel was located in the centre of Honolulu, the largest city and the capital of Hawaii.
My first impression was amazing, the hotel was luxurious, big, full of people working for clients and all this surrounded by giant swimming pools.
The temperature was perfect, 30 degrees more or less but we were tired because of the travel and we decided to go up to the room and leave our heavy luggage.
We had planned to spend 8 days and 7 nights in the hotel and see new places every day.
We spent the first two days relaxing in the hotel but the third, we went to the biggest beach to surf, which is the most important sport in these islands.
During the week,we discovered wonderful places::text like the National Park of volcanos and guided tour of famous valley.
My favorite activity was to learn the hula dance,a typical Hawaiian dance that is accompanied by songs.
This trip has been an opportunity to learn new cultures,it has been the best experience of my life.

CAUTERETS

Last month, I went to Maitane´s holidays house in Cauterets (France), to spend some days skiing. There, we were: Maitane, her two brothers, Eder, Wiwi, Josu, Julen and me. Although we were a lot of people at home, we had a very good time and I will never forget this experience.

First of all, Maitane came to my house in Eder´s car with Wiwi and Amaia to pick me up. Then, we went to Barakaldo to take her friends Josu and Julen, but I was very nervous, because I didn’t know them. After that, our fantastic and long trip started.

After travelling for six hours, we arrive to the  village and we went home. We were very tired, so we had dinner quickly and we went to sleep. We were very excited to ski the next day.

Finally the day arrived, we woke up at six o’clock and we took all the skiing material and we went to town to take the railway and went up to the station.

That day the weather wasn’t good, because it had been snowing all day. The red snow rink was closed and we could only descend from the blue one. It was funny because we were all together and we forgot the bad weather.

The next and final day was the best, because when we woke up, it was very sunny. That day we spent more time skiing, more or less eight hours. Moreover, all the rinks were opened and we enjoyed all of them. We took a lot of photographs in the snow and we also recorded videos jumping with the skis. Then, we took free time to have launch, because we were angry. After an hour, on the afternoon we started skiing again until five and then we changed our clothes and collected things to come back home. We spent a lot of time travelling once more.

I think this trip was the best one in my life, because we travelled with a group of friends, without parents, and it was a big experience that I really recommend. To sum up, I love skiing and all winters I’m waiting for the perfect moment to go on a trip a trip::text like this.

9: HAPPINES AT CHIRISMAS

ht

It was the 25th of december,1999, so I just was 4 years old. Everything looked::text like a normal Christmas, but what I didn't know was the present that I was going to receive.

It was christmas night and my alarm clock told me that it was 7 o'clock in the morning, so I could go to the living room and unwrap the presents. To my surprise there wasn't any box nor any present with my name on it, just a note with one instruction: go to the garage, your present is waiting for you there. Excitedly, I followed the instructions and the surprise I saw will never disappear from my memory.

Just opening the door of the garage I saw tiny dog, a puppy, moving the tail and waiting anxiously for somebody to play with it. Immediately I woke up my parents and shouted at them what “Olentzero” had brought me. Logically, they put a surprised face because they didn't want me to know that the dog have been bought by them.

That event made of my house a special place for me, because now it symbolizes my youth and happiness.Furthermore, in that moment it made me feel in heaven.

I was 12 years old when I went to live to Australia with my parents and sister.
Firstly, I should say that I didn't agree with the decision of going to live to Australia, but my mother told me that our lives would change. Now I am used to living in here.

This place is really different from others in the world. There are long beaches with the best surfers in the world and there are also a lot of shops and also prices are lower than Spanish prices.

One day, I was singing at Amelie's house, one of my classmates, and her father was surprised with me.
He started phoning his friends telling to them that I was a great singer and they should discover me.

This idea started as a project but finally I got the agreement with the discography.
At the moment, I´am one of the most important singers in Australia.

Fortunately, my best dream has come true here, in Australia. As you can imagine it is an experience I will never forget.
This has made me realise how different this place is, because miracles happen everyday.

11: Heaven--Nagore

When people think about heaven on earth, palm trees, beaches, blue oceans and sun is all that comes to their minds, but let me tell you about my own kind of paradise, where there’s no need of all these things I mentioned to make it beautiful, let me tell you about a magical place called Alaska.

I was very lucky to live there for a year, but even if I have so many things to say about my experience, I’m not going to talk about the wonderful people I met, the breath taking places I’ve seen, or the mountains, the snow and the lakes, I’m just going to tell you what happened that weekend I fell even more in love with Alaska.

It was Christmas break and I had already been there for a year. My host family and I went to Alyeska (a very nice ski resort) and I was going to learn how to snowboard. I was very excited and scared at the same time and right in the moment I started I hated it. I thought that was one of the most awful days ever since I was very embarrassed because everyone around me knew how to ski or snowboard and I didn’t. But I didn’t give up, so I thought I could go to one of the longer trails and try to do my best.

That’s exactly what I did. I went to the lift chair and the view from there was beautiful, all I could see were trees that were covered in snow and a frozen lake, but I thought that was the best place I had been to in my life so far. I took a lot of pictures of it, because I needed to capture that moment and take that view with me, but I knew I was never going to forget it anyways.

I had a really hard time snowboarding the next couple of days, and I’m not going to say that I didn’t cry::text like a baby and that I didn’t fall a thousand of times, because I did. But even if I was scared as hell, I snowboarded as fast as I could just to get on that lift chair again, and thanks to that, I got better at it.

12: Finding Heaven in Death Valley

A Little Piece of Heaven on a Spoon

I had read about it in books and heard about it on the TV.  You’d also think the name itself would have given me a fair idea of what I was getting myself into, nevertheless, I decided to ignore all that. Death Valley. For some strange reason my parents thought it was a great idea, a fun family trip as they called it, to cross Death Valley in the middle of the hottest season in a miniscule car.  And for an equally peculiar reason both my sister and I agreed.

In 55ºC and not having eaten anything substantial for at least four hours all the excitement had disappeared, we had even given up taking photos, and all that was left was the occasional bickering and the constantly increasing feeling of giving up hope of ever getting out of that hell. However beautiful the scenery was, all we could do was think about the drop of sweat rolling down our faces and dream of soon finding a hotel to stay at.

Just as I was about to ask my parents where we were staying for the night I looked forward, and there, in the distance, I could faintly make out the shape of a hotel. Just a few minutes later we were dragging our suitcases through the door. It was the grottiest, smelliest place I’d ever been in, but it had the air conditioning on and that was good enough for me. We went up to our room and lay there for a while, cooling off.

About an hour later, determined to turn that hell of a holiday around, my sister and I walked out of the hotel and went in search of some food. At first all we could find was McDonald’s and other similarly unappetizing restaurants, but just as we were about to give up all hope we turned a corner, and there, in the midst of cheap hamburger smells and dirty buildings, shone a bright sign: Gianna’s Ice-cream Parlour.

A bell chimed as we opened the door. We looked around at the endless flavours of ice-cream lined up, and after very little debating we decided to get as many of them as we thought we could eat. Moments later, I lifted a huge spoonful of the yogurt flavored one into my mouth. It tasted::text like a little piece of heaven on a spoon. It was the best ice-cream I had had up to that point and I haven’t found better ice-cream since. Thanks to Gianna’s Ice-cream Parlour I have great memories of that trip, and would go again any day.

TRAVEL EXPERIENCES!

I've had a lot of experiences, but the experience that most influenced me was about 7 years ago, when I went to Disneyland Paris with my cousins Carmen and Elena, my aunt M ª Carmen, my parents and my brother and sister. These holidays are special to me because my brothers, cousins and I bought a small duck secretly, without our parents’ consent and it was a great adventure for us.

One day, when we left the park Disneyland Paris and headed to the hotel, my cousins, brothers and I saw a child who had a small duck,so we approached the duck and started stroking it. My older cousin asked to the boy where he had bought the duck and knowing that he had bought it in  a street of  Paris, she asked our parents to go to see the pet shop. Our parents agreed to go to see the animals, so we went to the pet shop. After spending some time watching the animals, our parents decided to go to a bar that was in front of the shop. We wanted a duck, so we told our parents to  give us money to buy a shirt that we liked and when we had the money, we walked into the store and bought a duck and with the money that left over, we bought chips. We were playing with the duck on the street but when our parents left bar, we had to hide the duck in the bag of chips. When we got to the hotel, we did a little house in our room and we had the duck hidden several days. But one morning, our parents knocked on the door of the bedroom and my little cousin opened the door and my parents saw the duck.

After seeing the duck, our parents started laughing and they asked  us to tell the story of how we had bought it. We had spent a very good time all together in the room, but after dinner, our parents told us that they had found someone who wanted the duck so  we had to give it away.  Although we couldn’t keep the duck, it was a good experience and a good adventure.

14: Crossing the Amazon River

What I will tell happened a long, long time, almost when dinosaurs still existed. This occurred in a village on the banks of the Amazon when it was summer, a hot, dry summer. The story begins when an indigenous family of that village orders the youngest daughter to bring some fruits, fruits which are only in the other side of the river.

The girl couldn’t say no and she took a basket and parted. She walked and walked for hours. She was beginning to despair when in the distance she saw the great banks of the Amazon River. She increased the speed and she started running. She arrived to the Amazon River in the blink of an eye and there she could see many birds, five ducks, many fish...; but then she had a problem,  how could she cross the river? She despaired, sat on a rock near the water and began to mourn.

Suddenly, one of the ducks came and offered her aid. The girl asked to the duck how could it order her to cross the river, because she was heavy for the duck. Immediately the duck replied that he couldn’t do it on its own, but with their peers, together, yes they would be able to do it.

In this way the ducks joined forming a platform and said to the girl to get on top of it. Thus, the girl managed to cross the river and go home with the fruits. And so, she learned that with the union nothing was impossible. This union was her heaven.

15: SKIING IN ALTO CAMPOO

On the 8th of December my sister, her boyfriend, another four friends and me went to the ski station called Alto Campoo, in Cantabria (Reinosa) by van. We were very excited because we hadn’t skied since the last winter and the weather was going to be perfect, but suddenly everything went wrong.

The day arrived and my family put our equipment in the van. Then we went to pick up our friends, Josu, Julen, Iñigo and Nerea to Barakaldo at 6 o’clock in the morning. After three boring hours with traffic jams, we stopped in the petrol station of Reinosa to buy  bread and we went up to Alto Campoo station. The road had a lot of curves and we couldn’t see anything because of the fog. Furthermore, the weather wasn’t good as they had said on TV, it was rainy and the wind was blowing hard, so we started to be regretful to be there. We saw that almost all the pistes were closed however, we paid 25€ and we decided to go skiing::text like we had planed. We were frustrated and we were cold in our bodies because it was snowing all the time . Moreover, the chair lift moved a lot and I was very frightened.

We descended the same pistes a few times and we went to the restaurant to have lunch. This was the best moment of the day because we drank hot soup and we took our wet clothes off.

Finally, we decided to stop skiing and we went to the van to relax speaking since it was impossible to stay outside. Then we kept all the things and we went home again, three hours before they closed the station.

In conclusion, that day was one of the worst I remember in my life and I don’t want to happen it again. From now on, if this winter we go skiing again I am going to make sure the weather is good before going skiing.

16: Hell in the Alps, Ander Ortiz

The story I’m about to tell occurred two years ago in Alpe d’Huez, a French town in the Alps. It was the first time there for my parents, my brother and me. Our plan was to have a nice time enjoying the snowy mountains and the ski, but our vacations, early became a real hell on Earth.

It was the first night of the year 2011 when we arrived to the hotel. It was a fine place and we were very excited about what the receptionist had told us. He said that there was a lot of snow, and that the weather forecast said it was going to be a perfect sunny day for skiing. So, the next morning, we wore our ski boots and started enjoying the day.

The first two hours had been amazing, but suddenly, the weather changed and a hard wind started so, the fog flooded all the mountain. I couldn’t see anything farther than two or three meters and I soon got lost.

I was alone in the middle of a blizzard and I had a boot full of snow, so, I started to feel very cold. I felt very scared, but I decided to go down the mountain slowly, because I knew that in lower altitude, there wasn’t going to be so much fog. My descent lasted 10 minutes, because when the fog disappeared I saw a little town, a town I couldn’t recognize.

It seemed that I arrived there by skiing off piste, and of course, my parents weren’t there. Furthermore, I was feeling a terrible pain in my left foot and, in addition, I had lost my mobile phone somewhere in the mountain.
I went to the police station in the town and they brought me to the hospital because I had my feet completely frozen. My parents went there half an hour later, because policemen had warned them.

That’s how I lost one finger in my left foot and why that mountain became a hell for me that day. I felt very scared that day, but, I also understood how important it is to be aware of the mountain, because it can be very dangerous.

17: Miami

This year I have had one of the best experience of my life, when I went to the United States with my friends,  to watch a match of NBA in Miami. It was fantastic!!

It wasn't a normal match of the season, there were the NBA finals, so Miami was a party, it was incredible. When we entered  the American Airlines Arena, The AAA Miami´s court, we were impressed because it was immense, full of people cheering their team, the Miami Heat.

During the game it was fantastic to watch to one of my idols, Lebron James. He played a great match and finally they gave to him the MVP of the match. When the bell rang, people started to go crazy because their team was the new champion of the NBA. This,  was  great news for us because the party continued in the city of Miami.

These three days in USA are probably one of the moments that I will always remember all my life and I suppose that all my friends too.

18: The Heaven For Me

I choose Valdezcaray the ski station that it is situated in Ezcaray. Ezcaray is a little village that belong to La Rioja.

I::text like this place because since I was a child i used to go there with school and also with my parents. In there I have lived ones of the greatest moments of my childhood.

I remember when I went for the first time. That they I give realised that Valdezcaray was my favourite place. I have got in love of the views.

At first, I was a little bit scared when I took the chairlift because the wind was very strong and the chairlift moved a lot.

When we arrived to the ski installations the monitors were waiting for us. Immediately we found good because they were very professionals.

We had a very nice time there skiing in the “babies” ski track. In a few hours we would be able to go to the top of the mountain and try with another tracks. While I was getting down I could noticed the speed and adrenalin.

After 15 minutes approximately of getting downhill with my best friend Aritz, suddenly we sow and other friend, Mikel, getting down very fast and shouting to us: “How can I stoooppp!!, no one told me how to stop! And in that just moment he crashed into a fence. That day he finished with the ski, he looks scared.

Aritz and me stayed more time skiing and we made more ski jumps and we took more photographs, it was great. And since then we still going there sky every years.

donosti_kontxa_h.jpg&w=270&h=180&ei=oB_vAT THE SEASIDE

One day, at the beginning of the summer, my friends and I were trying to decide where to go for our holidays. Finally, we decided to go to Donostia. I was not very happy about the idea, but seeing my friends so excited, I agreed. We put our tent, sleeping bags and other equipment into our backpacks and caught a bus to Donosti. By the time we arrived it was dark and the beach was deserted. We set up our tent in the middle of the beach, ate some supper and went to bed.

The next morning, the beach was full of people, all looking at the tent. Some minutes later a policeman arrived and he ordered to pack up our little house immediately. We packed up our things and we ate some biscuits for breakfast, when suddenly, something fell from the sky. It was a strange paper with some letters written on it.

My friend and I took it and we started reading it, but we realized that it was in another language so we took a dictionary and we translated all. The paper said that the person who read that would be very lucky for the rest of his life. For me that was the best day of all the summer and that place was very special to me.

20: Hell- Ana Ruiz- Christmas hollidays

My Christmas holidays started two weeks ago. I was really excited because I was going to go to Andorra to spend Christmas there with my sister and a few friends. This trip was going to be the vacation of my dreams, but it turned out to be a terrible nightmare. Everything went badly.

Firstly, when we were on the way to our destination the police stopped us in the car and they thought my friend was a drug dealer. This wasn't true, but they made us wait for hours asking questions until they sorted out the problem.

When we got to Andorra we went to the hotel. However, the heating was broken and we were very cold for the whole trip. The second day, as we were coming back from skiing we went to get the car to return to the hotel but someone had broken the side mirrors of the car. As  we had bought a small heater for the cold and we had to buy new side mirrors for the car we spent all of our money. In the end, we couldn't go party as we wanted and buy presents for our families.

It was the last day before returning home and we thought that day was going to be the best but it wasn't::text like that. After having a great time skiing we went to turn in the ski equipment and I slipped and broke my leg.

Finally, when we decided to go home and everything would be fine my boss noticed I had a broken leg and fired me. This caused me to go into a deep depression an3.jpgd seek medical attention.

THE PERFECT DAY

Two years ago I went to Lanzarote in August. My family and I spent there two weeks in Costa Teguise. Every day we visited a lot of places, for example: the fantastic cave Jameos del Agua, the huge volcano called Timanfaya and the beautiful beach Papagayo. The journey was fantastic but a day was more special than the rest.

We woke up at 8 o’clock in the morning and after we had breakfast we went to Famara beach and I saw that the swell was incredible, I couldn’t believe that! The wind was north shore , waves were enormous, the weather was very hot ,so water was warm and we were only two people on the beach. That’s why I spent all the morning surfing there. Then, we went to a bar near the beach. The views from the bar were amazing, we could see the turquoise water, the whitish sand, some palms and a man doing windsurf. In the afternoon, we decided to do a trip in quads around Timanfaya. Suddenly, many camels started following us, a few of them were so quick that they caught us, it was because we had food in our bags. It was very funny but at the moment we felt nervous. The quads’ monitors were very nice and they invited us to a party on the Arrecife beach. At night, we went there and we saw that it was a party inspired in Hawaii, there were some boys performing with fire and girls dancing a typical dance of the island. We spent there all night drinking delicious cocktails, dancing and meeting really nice people. However, the best thing of the night was that we saw dolphins jumping in the horizon.

This was the perfect day because it was full of different and fantastic experiences and I had the opportunity to do many things with my family.

Last Christmas I went to Tenerife with my family for nine days to celebrate my grandma’s birthday.  I was really looking forward to going and I thought it was going to be a great trip, but I was wrong.

After going out till late on New Years Eve, I took a plane to Tenerife. Although I was tired, I was feeling happy and I enjoyed the flight with my family. It took us just a few hours to get to the Hotel and unpack the luggage and, as soon as we finished, we went to the beach. That’s when everything started to get worse.

I was sunbathing when I started to feel ill. I had a sore throat and a terrible headache so I decided to go to the room and lay down for a couple of hours. When I woke up I was feeling much worse than before and I had high temperature. As a result, my mum took me to the doctor and he told me to stay in the Hotel room for the whole week.

I spent the first five days in the room while the rest of my family was enjoying the sunny weather in the beach. I was angry and disappointed  due to the bad luck I was having, things couldn’t be worse.

Those were the worst holidays of my life and ,although the last three days I was feeling better, it was::text like the hell for me.

26: A PLACE::text LIKE HEAVEN

New Year's Eve was a special day, everything that happened that day was in my favor. All started after the bells, We took the underground and arrived in Neguri and from there we walked to the port of Algorta. After Getting there, we met a friend who saved us the night giving some free VIP tickets to one of the locals, so we decided to go there.

It started to rain but we reached the port without getting wet. At the entrance the secureguard let us pass because of the VIP tickets. We saved 50€ in the ticket but that was not all, when we got to the bar we realized that the drink was free for us.
We spent there the night free, and I was luckier when I found a 100€ bill on the floor, keeping it in my wallet quickly to avoid envy.

After the party, when we were leaving the local, the rain started again and we could not go to the underground without getting wet. Then, the surprise was when one of our friends appeared with the car to give us a ride home. So, I did not only save the 50 € of the ticket, I won 100 € and I had an incredible luck all the night. Thanks to all of these things now that place is special to me.

BAD TIME

I remember a sunny weekend morning eleven years ago. I believe it was February, a cold month of the year, I was having breakfast with my mother, laughing, having fun with her. Everything seemed to be planned, it was a perfect day with my mother. Two days before, my father told me that he was going to Cartagena since he was participating in the Spanish Classic Road Racing Championship and that weekend the most important race of the year was going to take place. I was worried because it was too cold in Cartagena, therefore, it was too difficult to warm the tyres in the race to have an optimum grip. So I asked if I could go to help him, but my parents refused . And he finally went alone to Cartagena´s international race.
That morning at lunchtime the phone started to ring, so my mum went to the sitting room to pick it up. Suddenly, I heard a terrible scream coming from where she was . I ran to the sitting room faster than the speed of light and when I saw her, she told me crying that my dad had had a terrible accident while he was in the first position of the qualifying practice. I think that was the worst feeling I´d ever had. All the perfect memories with my parents turned into a dark and gray bad feeling. After the news, that same night my mother went to Cartagena´s hospital because my father was going to be operated and she wanted to be with him. Due to the serious injuries he had, he had to stay 3 months at the hospital and I was forced to stay with my grandparents that endless period of time.
Finally when my parents came back, my life went back as it was. But nowadays, eleven years later, my father is still going to the chiropractor. He is much better but he hasn´t gotten over it yet. Because of that, now I´m the one in my family who competes in road racing.

30: Heaven

I had just arrived from England and I wanted to see my friends. It was a horrible day so we decided to go to Artea and watch a film. But the film started at eight o’clock and it was half past five. Therefore we went to  McDonald’s to have a snack.
I asked the waitress for an ice cream and suddenly a bell rang and lots of balloons fell from the ceiling. The waitress told me:
-Congratulations you are our one million customer! Your gift is a gift voucher to spend one thousand Euros in Artea in an hour!
I was shocked, I thought I was dreaming. However, when my friends hugged me I knew it was real and in that moment I was the happiest woman in the world.
In that situation I felt that it was heaven, because I had never won anything before and because it is very difficult to win a prize::text like  this again. So I took the gift and I shared it with my friends.

31: Sandra Martin - THE MIRACLE OF THE DESERT

We were three friends in this amazing story. I was there, riding a safari car with my best friend Ann, who was eighteen, and another friend of mine called George, who’s sixteen years old. Ann was a little stubborn at those times, but very brave, and she always knew what to do in trouble; as she was very adventurous, she was the one who proposed the journey to Africa. My other friend, George, was always calmed, and was very down to earth. But when we told him about our marvellous plan of visiting Africa with a safari car, I remember that he started to jump as a small kid.
So there we were, in the great continent of Africa, exploring the savannah in our car, taking photos of the amazing landscape full of animals and yellow grass. There were some trees full of green leafs, which were being eaten by enormous giraffes with brown dots in their bodies. The elephants were taking a bath in a small lake full of water which looked::text like a crystal, and the cheetah seemed to be doing a race, running from one place to another, all together, and sometimes they climbed trees, using their claws. That was an amazing view of one of the most beautiful places on earth, and we were all alone, without anyone annoying us, or without any trouble there. But that magical situation didn’t last too much...
Suddenly, our car started to make strange noises, its speed began to decrease and it started crawling, until it stopped moving. We were there, alone, lost in the middle of the savannah, with a car without fuel, with some bottles of water and sandwiches. We were there, panicking, and thinking what to do before it was too late. But then, in the middle of our scream, we saw something moving... Lions! Big and savage lions! And they were approaching, slowly, thinking about what to do with us. We thought about getting into the car, but then we remembered that it didn’t have a roof, so it was useless getting inside it to protect ourselves. We then picked up some sticks to scare those beasts, but with their pins they broke those sticks very easily. We then thought that we were going to be killed and eaten by those hungry lions.
After staying about two minutes without moving, thinking about our death, one of the lions came to the front, and started walking until he was next to us. Then we thought that was the end, but amazingly, the big, hungry and powerful lion began to smell and lick me, as a dog, and the other lions did the same. At the beginning we thought they were playing with their catches before eating them, but they seemed very calmed, and harmless.
Then, the lions began to move, and the bigger one held me with his mouth from my T-Shirt, and took me and my friends with him. At the beginning, I tried not to move, to stay in my place, but I don’t know why, I fully trusted that lion. His eyes showed kindness, and he was very tactful with his movements, trying not to hurt us. He wasn’t::text like any other predator I had seen before. We walked for some hours I think, and we got to a small village, with tiny houses made of mud, and wood. Their inhabitants weren’t surprised about seeing more than ten lions in their village with three humans, what’s more, they came to us to salute the animals, and give them food. I was surprised, and so were my friends. If a lion came to my village, I would scream and shout as a crazy woman, but these villagers weren’t scared.
In the end, the lions left and we were taken to the nearest city in a carriage moved by old camels. I exactly can’t remember the name of the city, but we spent one night in a luxurious hotel, but it wasn’t very expensive anyway. The next morning we picked a bus to Cairo, and from there we flew home. I’m sure I’ll never forget this adventure, and we are looking forward to go on back to the savannah, but we are a little scared at the same time, because we could have met and aggressive animal instead of those kind lions, we can say that they were the miracle of the desert.

32: Amazing holidays- Maitane Serrano

In March 2008 we went to Belorussia and we stayed there one week. We decided to go there because we wanted to visit Tatiana, a Russian girl that comes to our house every summer.

On the fifteenth we took a plane to Frankfurt, then to Vienna and finally to Minsk, the capital of Belorussia. On the airport there were two Russian women who spoke Spanish and they stayed with us all week because in that country they don’t know Spanish and we needed translators.

These two women, called Katia and Elena, went with us to the hotel, we left the luggage there and we went to have lunch. After that, we had a walk and we saw some important buildings, as churches and a lot of monuments reminding all people that were killed on wars. We also saw a frozen river and big pavements that were very clean. I liked this walk a lot but it was very cold, the temperature was -5ºC in spite of the fact that it was spring.

Next day, in the morning we went to a crafts market and we bought many things, for example painting, glass figures... Those sellers in spite of the poverty, they were very polite and pleasant. In the afternoon, we went to the theatre, the tickets were very cheap and the ballet performance was incredible. Moreover, the performance was represented on the Congress palace that was very beautiful.

The following day, in the morning we went to the circus, the tickets were also very cheap and the acting was amazing, there were many gymnasts and some clowns. Later, Katia, Amaia, my parents and I took a train to Gomel, and after eight hours there, we arrived. In Gomel Tatiana, her sister, her mum and a man were waiting for us, after one hour in a car we arrived to Terejovka, the village where Tatiana lives.

We stayed in her house two days, we met all her family, they were very kind and friendly. We visited the village and we saw the school, the nursery school, one place for the young people. Everybody was shocked because they had never seen a tourist before, so they tried to speak with us and they took care of us.

After staying there three days we took the train and we went back to Minsk. When we got there it was snowing. The view was fantastic! This was our last day in Belorussia and we had dinner with Katia and her mum. Very early in the morning we took the plane and we came back home.

In this trip we saw a lot of poverty and it was shocking but, in spite of that, it was very good and special journey because we met Tatiana’s family and we saw Katia and Elena again.

33: Unas vacaciones agridulces- Maitane Serrano

A REAL NIGHTMARE

In winter 2009 my family and I went to Marrakech because we had carnival holidays. My sister, my parents and I spent one week there. We had never been there before, but we were expecting the best.

We went to Madrid by van. Then, we took a plane there and we arrived to Marrakech at 1 o’clock more or less. We took a taxi and we went to a little but a lovely hotel near Jamaa el Fna square. We left all our luggage there and we went to have a delicious lunch at the big square. The temperature was fantastic and we decided to go to the bazaar. It was amazing, there were a lot of shops with millions of different and beautiful lamps, rugs, teapots... After having dinner, we returned to the hotel and we went to sleep.

The following days we did a lot of things. We did a marvellous trip to the Ourika Valley, we also saw the Majorelle garden, we visited the spectacular Bahía Palace too... but the most entertaining thing was being at Jamaa el Fna square. We were having fantastic holidays, but the worst was coming.

The day before our coming back, while we were going back to the hotel, my sister started to vomit. She was ill so she did not have dinner and she went to sleep. The following day we had to take the plane quite early but my parents had a walk and they drank a juice in a tabern. As soon as they came back to the hotel we took our luggage and we went to the airport.

When we were in the plane my mum started to say that she was feeling bad and we thought that the juice she had taken before was bad. While we were flying, a flight attendant gave my mum a coffee with salt in order to make her vomit, but it was in vain, she could not vomit anything.

When we arrived to Madrid we got on our van and we went back to Plentzia. As my mum was very ill, we put some clothes in the boot and she went there the whole journey. Four hours later we arrived and my mum went to sleep. The next day she could not eat anything because she was feeling very bad and she stayed the whole day in the bed.

Finally, my mum told my father to call an ambulance because she was feeling awful. When my parents arrived to the hospital some doctors started to do medical tests to her. In the end, they discovered that she had peritonitis and they operated her as quick as they could. Our fantastic holidays in Marrakech ended in a real nightmare.

UNAS VACACIONES INOLVIDABLES

Llegamos a nuestro destino esa misma noche.

It was not easy, but I had to do it. In front of me there was this big river, with water that was running very fast, and this rubber dinghy. Behind me I could hear the guide explaining that the water was only about 4ºC warm. Furthermore, he told our group that there were some dangerous places, where we had to take special care. After that, the guide smiled and cried: “Let´s go!”
For one moment, I was thinking of an escape. But this river-rafting tour in Filipinas was my birthday present from my friends, and they were all there. I was the last one who got into the boat, and sat down at the back of it. I tried to smile smile and join the others´ pleasure, however, I wasn't very successful. I closed my eyes and the boat set off.
In that moment I had the feeling that something bad was going to happen.
Suddenly, it started raining so I was afraid. The boat started to move and the water was removed by something that was swimming into the river, but we didn't know what it was. Ainhoa, my best friend, leaned over the railing and a strange creature came out of the water, grabbed her, and took her with it. I was terrified!
We decided to return as soon as possible before another misfortune would happen but I didn't have enough time to arrive.
Since then, no one has ever heard anything about us...

That day wasn’t a typical day of summer, it was my 18th birthday.
First, I woke up at nine o’clock and at that time my parents were already up and with the presents in their hands. I took the biggest present and I found a lot of clothes::text like a dress, a T-shirt, a blouse... Then I could see that my mother had a blue envelope. I didn’t know what that was, but when I opened the envelope I started jumping and shouting. I saw that there were tickets to go to Chicago. Many times I had told my parents to go there because I had never been in Chicago and they had always told me that they were frightened because of the long flight.
I had planned a lot time ago a party with my friends but it was impossible to do it because if we went to go to Chicago, the flight took off at ten o'clock at night. I phoned my friends immediately to cancel the party and to meet with them on the beach.
One hour later, I met with them and I explained perfectly what the problem was. After that I went home to pack my suitcase and to sleep a little bit, since the fly would be long. When I woke up we went to the airport. The plane was full of people.
Four hours later we arrived in Chicago, it seemed to be a dream. After we arrived at the hotel we went to see the city and we could see that there was a big wheel. I told my parents to go there but they had prepared some trips for all the week, so we didn’t get on the wheel.

After a week, I was very happy because my dream had come true. Now, I know that I’m going to go Chicago to live because it’s a beautiful city.

44: A Hell in Holland, Jone Ezkurdia

amsterdam-bike-best-jobs-article.jpgTwo years ago I went with my brother, mom and dad to Amsterdam, Holland. We went in Autumn, and it was raining all the time, non stop. The second day of our stay we decided to walk to Dam square, the heart of Amsterdam. As it was raining the floor was wet and slippery, but there was nothing that could ruin our perfect day.

Amsterdam is a beautiful place full of green people who prefer riding their bikes than cars. It is also true that for this reason traffic-lights are not respected, but they are not necessary, because accidents between bikes and pedestrians are not usual. I was to cross a road when suddenly a bike came out of nowhere. I really didn’t see the bike when I decided to walk across. The bike hit me and I fell down. I barely remember people taking me out of the road and taking me to hospital. There, we had to wait very long because we were foreigners.

After 3 hours at hospital, the doctor decided that nothing was wrong with me and that I was able to leave the hospital. However, my leg hurt and I didn’t feel::text like going touring the city, so my mum took me to the hotel.

Finally I wasted the whole morning at the hotel, because I wasn’t in the mood of going out. In the evening I felt better and I went with my family to have a nice dinner; even if the night ended up well, it hadn’t been a perfect holiday day.

46: Hell in Canada

Some years ago, when I was thirteen, I went to a little camp in Canada to spend a month. My principal goal was  to learn English while making new friends and having a great time. But soon, that summer became hell to me.

When I arrived there, I didn't know anyone, and as it was the first time I was going abroad, I was very excited. I met some Canadian `friends´ but we didn't understand each other very well, because my English level was very low, so we could only communicate with gestures.

One day I was told that my group was going on a great excursion with canoes. The trip was to last five days, and I thought it could be a very good chance to get along with the girls.

After packing all we needed in big bags and leaving the camp to make a route through lakes, the excursion started. We made many kilometres that day, and when we couldn't continue rowing because the lake finished, we had to take the canoe on our shoulders as far as the next lake. It was a very tiring experience, and as I wasn't used to doing so much exercise, I soon found myself exhausted.

Moreover, nobody had told me about the mosquitoes. I have always hated insects , so to be surrounded by them all the time, even asleep, was hell for me. The girls I was going with were used to that environment, so they couldn't understand why I was so irritated.

The situation went worse, because I hated the food I was given: it was all precooked food packed  in plastic. As a result, I had to endure five days eating just the necessary.

When we finally returned to the camp, I was happy to leave behind all the bad moments. I continued living with these Canadian girls for two more weeks, although I couldn't communicate with them very well. After that, they left and another new group of friendlier girls came to the camp.

During this holiday, I learnt many things: that language is very important for communication, that it is necessary to be patient to cope with bad situations and that it is not possible to be friends with everybody.

¡Pocas veces recuerdo haber disfrutado tanto!

An amazing trip with amazing friends

The last summer, I went to Noja with my friends and we stayed there five days. The aim of the trip was to relax, to have a good time with friends and to go to parties. We were ten girls and we all stayed in a camping. Five of us slept in a “bengali” and the other five in another. These type of huts, are::text like “bungalows” but the price to stay there is cheaper.

When we were planning the trip and getting information, we saw on a map that the camping was really far away from the bus station. When we arrived and asked people about the camping, all the people said: Buuuuuuffffff ! So in that moment we thought that our information was true! We walked two hours before we arrived to the camping but we had a very good time laughing and joking.

The first day we arrived approximately at 8 o’clock so we didn't do many things. We went to a restaurant to have dinner and then we went to a party near the camping.

The other days we did the same, went to the beach, to parties, kayaking... but especially we laughed a lot.  Living together was a very good experience because we knew each other better and we were all the time together. In this trip I realised the excellent friends I have!

49: Adventure in Oslo

It was a hard winter in the city of Oslo, and I had to walk very warm stopping in bars to drink hot chocolate to get my body warms . It was the first time I had traveled to that city and the people seemed nice and humble.

In the afternoon, I went to the central square and when I went to buy a shirt I realized that I lost the money, and with themoney I lost my passport and identification too. I started get nervious and I look everywhere. I asked people around me, but anybody saw my money. To relax my mind I sit down on a bench and I called the police asking for help. The policeman laughted at me and he said to me “ If someone has seen your money, be sure that he didn´t return it you “

Very sad I started crying because nobody was willing to help me. Suddenly a poor old man appeared behind the bench and spokes to me “ hey girl, why are you crying?” I told him all the story and he promise to help me. We started looking around the central square and behind a tree I found my money.

I left the poor man and thanked him, and I gave him 20 euros and a big hug. From this I learned that someone who has the less is the one who helps you more

50: A place::text like heaven - Irene Allica - BD

When I was only 6 years old, my grandparents discovered a very little town in La Rioja, which was on the mountains. Probably, for a lot of people, to spend their holidays in a  small town without shops, cinemas... and in the middle of the nature, would be::text like being in hell, but for me, it´s a really good place to be.

The first days I stayed there, I was a little bored, because there weren´t many children, but  over time, I have learned to love that place. When I go there, I feel very happy, and I love to go to the mountain with the dogs, because there, I can breathe fresh air and listen to the animals that live there. Sometimes, if you go in silence, you can see one or two roe deers.

One day in winter, I was with my family in the mountain, when suddenly, we heard a strange noise. We went silently  to the place were the noise came from, and we could see a wild boar with its baby. It was very nice, and I felt very happy. Another day, I went to another mountain, which has a lot of really big lands, and heard the noise of some dogs. When I looked into the distance, I could see three dogs going after two deers. It was very pretty and the landscape was beautiful, because it was all snowy and the lake was frozen. I will never forget this picture.

So, with all these, I think that it can´t be a better place than this.

51: Painful holidays.

Last year I was really excited and looking forward to the beginning of summer. On the one hand because we were going to finish the classes in May and it was going to be the longest summer ever, and on the other hand because I was going to Denmark one week with my handball team. Although we were only seven players and we had not any changes, we were happy because we were going to play a tournament where people from different countries participate.
We had been preparing the voyage for months and finally it was July and we were ready to catch the plane in the airport of Bilbao. After saying goodbye to our parents and with a smile on our faces, all the team including the coach boarded the plane. It was a long trip because the championship took place in a small town quite far from the airport of Copenhagen so, we had to catch a train and then a bus.
When we arrived everything was interesting for us, the currency was different, there were a lot of people speaking uncountable languages and it looked::text like the stay in Denmark was going to be unforgettable.
I wasn't wrong, the third day we played a match against a team of Norway with the misfortune of breaking my elbow. The pain was horrible and I felt sick. All my friends were very worried and they  immediately run looking for a doctor.
I spent the whole day in  hospital and finally I returned back to the town with all my arm bandaged so, I couldn't play any more matches in Denmark. It was really an unforgettable experience and my long summer became worse than I expected.

52: Falsas impresiones

54: The Show

I was living the moment of glory in my life, the top of everything. I was 17 and I was in a
disco, I’d been rehearsing months for that moment, my dance group, The Diamonds
Dance Crew, and I were going to show who we were and what were we able to in
Anaconda disco. We were going to dance being paid! What else could I ask for?
I was very excited, we were in the backstage holding for success. We could listen people
shouting and screaming while they were dancing and waiting for us. Will people::text like our
dance? Is this going to be the jump to fame? we were wondering.
When the boss of Anaconda, Gonzalo, arrived, he wished us luck but he put us under
pressure when he told us that if we couldn’t do it well they wouldn’t hire us again. It was
the first time we were working as dancers and one of the most sensible person in the
group told us “It’s normal for us to be frightened of what the reaction of the public will
be”, that sentence relaxed me.
Five minutes before we start, I felt heaven coming and as soon as I danced the first step
I realised that I really was in heaven. The wobbly had disappeared, everyone was
encouraging us, that was the precise moment when I felt loved.

56: Christmas Holidays at hospital

It was winter and Christmas Holidays were coming in two days. My twenty classmates and I were absolutely glad about leaving school for two weeks and  anxious about opening Santa’s presents. I was only seven years old, so I still believed in Santa and the Three Wise Men,::text like everybody in my class did. Teachers motivated us by handing out colorful Christmas postcards, the ones we used to decorate full of enthusiasm. Nevertheless, that magic situation turned around and I finished in Crosses, the most important public hospital in Biscay.

It was Thursday evening and I was finishing my homework, eager to go out and spend my free time playing with my friends. However, when I was almost ready to leave, I began to feel sick. At first, my mum thought it was an ordinary stomach-ache due to the chocolate I had eaten before, but she realized she was wrong when I cried because of the pain. She recommended me to have a hot bath. This way, it was probably that my muscles would relax and then I would feel better. I did what she told me and stayed for half an hour with my belly immersed in water.

I felt better for about ten minutes, but then, the pain increased and became unbearable. My mum did not know what to do to calm me, so she gave me a pill. It was approximately 8 o’clock and my dad had to work until 9 pm. We had to wait to him to go to the hospital because my mum has not got a driving licence. Those were the worst sixty minutes in my life. Finally, my father arrived home and took me to the medical centre. Nevertheless, I suffered more than ever as I had to wait until 1am to be checked.

Doctors were sure it was not a common stomach-ache and asked me many questions to find where the pain was coming from. Furthermore, they told me to hop on one leg. I felt ridiculous! In addition, I did not understand what they were doing. I noticed that my parents were nervous and worried, so I supposed something wrong was happening to me. I waited in a white room with some nurses and at 2am they moved me to the surgery. By the time, my two sisters had arrived to the waiting room. The operation was about to start. I was suffering from appendicitis!

I stayed hospitalized three days. I went through sheer hell! It was extremely boring and the food was tasteless. Moreover, I could only walk for some minutes and very slowly, held on to the serum drip. If not, I got very tired.

Fortunately, they gave me the certificate of discharge the Christmas Day in the morning. Therefore, I came back home on time to open all the presents I asked to Santa on the letter I had written to him. I hope not to live something alike again! It was horrible!

PARIS, MY PARADISE
Last summer I went with my friends to paris for a week. We went to a hotel with five starts. My room was huge and I could see the Eiffel tower from my window.

On the first day, we went shopping because my friend has lost the bag in the airport. The shops were luxurious and prices were higher than in Spain.
On the second day we met with five boys who came from Donosti, so we did a lot of excursions with them, but we left the Eiffel tower for the next day.

Finally, the last day we went to the Eiffel tower, which is impresive and very important for the city but in my opinion it is not very beautiful. That day, muy friend Maria, fell in love with Ander, the boy we met on the second day.
We went back to Spain feeling very happy because Paris is the city of the love and it was an honor to see it.

The worst Christmas of my life

Every year, at Christmas the whole family met at Grandma's home to celebrate them. We get together about twenty people and we organize an amazing party. But, last year everything was different and awful.

My daddy works in an office in Bilbao and on these dates the company brings people from other places to help them because there is more work.
Last year he met one of them who came from Madrid and he was a very friendly man. When he told to my daddy that he was going to be alone at Christmas and my daddy invited him to spend the Christmas with us, he accepted and decided to come on Christmas Eve.

When the day arrived, we met my daddy`s friend and he looked::text like a friendly man. But, everything changed early. He didn't stop talking during the night and we were very bored because we couldn't say anything.

When the dinner finished, we said to our daddy that we didn't want to return anymore because the night had been too hard.

My horrible trip to Antarctica

Last summer I visited Antartica. The cold was awesome.I traveled with my father. We wanted to make the trip to visit all arctic wildlife. My father loves it. We traveled by plane because it is the only way to get there.

In the second day we planned to big ice island to see polar bears and seals. The landscape was fantastic but we only saw a few seals. In the afternoon we were waiting for the airplane when a big polar wind started. We hoped for two hours but the airplane could not land because of the terrible wind.In this situation I thought that we would not survive for much more time. The wind turned the trip into hell.
My father thought that the best option was to climb to the top of the mountain,in this way the plane could see us more easily.Suddenly we saw two lights approaching. Two snowmobiles were coming to rescue my father and I.The nightmare had ended

From that day seals brings me bad memories

62: Heaven

We all have that special place or city that brings life back into us. Mine happens to be Cartagena (Murcia), a lightly populated city in the southern part of Spain. Cartagena means such a great deal to me because I usually spend my summer holidays there, there are plenty of fun things to do.

The first time I had the pleasure of traveling there was long ago, and unfortunately, I cannot remember the details of my first visit. However, I hold very good memories of the beaches of the Spanish mediterranean coast, as I had my first skydiving jump there.

Besides traveling to Cartagena for jumping off planes for fun, there is also a great deal of activities for people that are not willing to dive. For example, there is a Windsurf school whose aim is to help newcomers to this sport, and vast beaches where one's greatest concern gets to be whether or not to go for a swim in the sea.

Because of all these great things, I perceive this city as a metaphoric heaven on earth and I always look forward to coming back next summer.

65: A fantastic trip

There are some days in our lives which are unforgettable; some events that make us feel able to touch the sky. Being in that fabulous state of grace is a unique experience. I am so lucky due to the fact that my splendid experience lasted two weeks. I will always remember how exultant I felt during the best days of my whole existence.

It all started in Easter, when the flowers are blossoming and the rain is abundant. However, in Costa Rica, the most beautiful country that I have ever visited, April is a hot and dry month.

I could not believe I was in such a beautiful place when my parents and I arrived to Cahuita, a coastal small town near the Caribbean Sea. It was even more amazing than what I had imagined.  We stayed in a cozy cabin which had a hammock at the porch. The first day, I spent many hours exploring the town with my mother, including all the reggae shops and bars. The following day, we visited the Cahuita National Park, a place where we found the most exotic jungle and fantastic beaches together. After some hours of walking through the jungle, we sunbathed at the beach. The most surprising thing about our stay there was that we did not need any alarm clock, a howler monkey woke us up every morning!
fterwards, we went by car to a very different region. We stayed at a hotel near the Arenal Volcano, the most famous volcano in Costa Rica. During the three days we stayed there, we did a vast variety of activities, for instance mountain climbing or rafting. We also went to the Tabacón Spa Resort, where the water of the natural swimming pools was really hot. That was because the resort was located at the base of the volcano.
I did not want to leave that place, but the desire of visiting new ones was much stronger. We went to Monteverde, a mountainous region where the most bizarre animal species could be found. While my father was driving the car, I admired the greatness of the landscape. At those fascinating green mountains, I practised the most scaring sport I have ever done: bungee jumping! Although it had the same name, it was different from the bungee jumping we know in some aspects: it was practised at a bridge, but instead of jumping to a river or to the sea, you jump to the jungle! The view from the top was so breathtaking that I did not want to jump! It was very interesting to walk through the mountains and to see emblematic animals, such as the quetzal.
Our last destination was on the other side of the country. We arrived at a town called Samara, which was surfers’ favourite destination since it had a large beach near the Pacific Ocean. We stayed at a hostel which had been built by a French man five years before. He,::text like all the Costa Rican people, was really kind and polite. In Samara, the bars were in the beach. That had advantages as well as disadvantages. On the one hand, it was very pleasant to relax having a drink in front of the sea. On the other hand, the beach had been destroyed in order to build those bars. Nevertheless, we found a magnificent beach which was located near Samara. The beach was huge and had a lot of palm trees. Moreover, there was hardly anyone sunbathing or swimming. The best trip I have ever done had a very satisfactory ending: we enjoyed this place’s special environment  for a week.
When I returned to Gorliz, my town, the dream had already finished. Even though I know that possibly I will not visit Costa Rica again, my memories will last forever. In addition, I have written a diary where I explain all the details of this fantastic trip!cahuitacostarica.jpg

¡Vaya sitio!

67: Maria the hero-nagore vitalle

The second day of June I went with my group of friends to a camping in France. We were very excited about living alone, without parents to control us. When we arrive to our bungalow it was full of insects and most of them were spiders; it was horrible because I have panic to arachnids.

We were disappointed with the accommodation but we decided to stay. The days passed and a friend of mine noticed that the man who was staying in the bungalow in front of us, was looking at us very strangely. We didn’t care about what she had told and we continued having fun.

The last day, we were coming from a club at 5 o’clock in the morning. Maria and I were going in the back, behind the rest, by the time we were entering the camping all our friends had disappeared and we noticed someone behind us. It was the strange man with a knife, I was very scared but Maria acted::text like a hero and fighting against him using a personal defense technique called“Krav Maga”. I called the police after that.

68: My hell on the earth Jon Eguskiza

Loiu airport is hell to me because something happened that I will never forget.

It was on April 1 and I was going to the airport of Loiu with my sister not knowing what was going to happen an hour later. We arrived at the airport and problems began because we couldn’t find a place to park our car.
When we went in to the airport we were very confused because we had never traveled alone and we started to get anxious.

At the end we found the gate through which we had to go but it was closed and then they communicated that the reason of the closed gate was that the plane that we had to take was delayed. What was supposed to be an hour delay was five hours, five burdensome and boring hours that we spent sitting on the bench playing cards.
Finally, they opened the gates and it seemed that we could get in the plane, but we had problems because people began to run to get in fast. In addition, when all the passengers sat on the plane they told that there was more passenger than seats and we had to wait 30 minutes until that person was located.

In conclusion I think that I have a lot of reasons to think that my hell on the earth is this aeroport.
