Do you need to brush up your English? O forse il tuo Italiano è un po’ arrugginito? Maybe you’d like to learn more about art history? The British Institute, where you can do all this, has been present in Florence since 1917 and was the first of the British cultural institutes to operate overseas. In fact, it served as a model for the establishment of the British Council in 1934.
The institute has always worked hard to forge relationships between the local and visiting populations of Florence with cultural events and a range of courses available to all. It is a University of Cambridge exam centre and can also give Italian authentication to educational certificates from Anglophone countries.
The British Institute today is not only an important centre for learning, but also a great place to meet people. While you’re there you can also pick up a copy of The Florentine!
