All the processions in town will pass through or finish at Sapan Hin which used to be important as a port for Phuket, by the sea in the south of town.

11: Thye Guan Tong Shrine

Many of the street processions pass this small Chinese shrine on Krabi road in the old town. A good place for photos.

12: Shrine of the Serene Light

Hidden up a small side street an important and historical little shrine. A secret passage through the back of the shrine leads through the kitchen of the Wilai restaurant on Thalang Road. The shrine is being renovated and will hopefully be 100% ready for the festival in 2012.

13: TAT Office

The Phuket TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) office will have information, schedules, brochures and posters about the festival.

14: The Dragon

According to a Chinese legend, Phuket island is a sea dragon emerging from the Indian Ocean. Tradition holds that this dragon, Hai Leng Ong, is duty-bound to protect Phuket and its visitors. There is a large golden dragon statue at Queen Sirikit Park next to the TAT office and some processions stop here to give blessings during the festival.

16: Por Tor Kong Shrine

Close to Bang Neow shrine, it will be much visited for the vegetarian festival, but is even more important during the Por Tor festival which took place in August 2011, it's always about 1 1/2 months before the vegetarian festival.
