We went snowshoeing on February 25th, 2012. Original planning was to do three summits, but after two we were so exhausted that we walked beside the cross-country trail instead.

This trip includes incredible views of Mount Hood across Trillium Lake and Summit Meadows. The two sunset photos were taken near the trailhead the evening before the trip. We took trail number 16, had our lunch and later ventured a bit along trail 9. The latter crosses route 329 - you have to wait at a traffic light. Not my favorite area for snowshoeing, I prefer more remote areas.

Ce sentier de raquette est relativement plat, sauf pour la portion 2b. Il n'y a pas beaucoup de balises, alors pour utiliser ce sentier l'été, il faut se munir d'une carte, ou mieux encore, d'un tracé GPS. This snowshoe trip starts at the parking area about 0.5 miles past Mutual Dell up American Fork Canyon. The hike follows Pine Hollow trail and Ridge trail to the point where the Ridge trail meets the Tibble Fork Trail junction. There are a number of other trails in the area. We returned to the trailhead by travelling off-trail to the east of Mud Creek.

Cette randonnée se fait autant en raquette qu'en randonnée pédestre. Autoroute 15 sortie Rue Demontigny, à la sortie tounez à droite sur Chemin de Château Bleue, au bout (après le pont) tounez à gauche sur rue Trudeau, stationnez au bout. Le départ se fait à gauche mais peu aussi le faire en sens inverse, à droite.

Le sentier comporte 3 partie, la partie sud, la partie la plus longue se termine au chalet numéro 1. La partie la plus nord, se termine au chalet numéro 2 et reviens sur elle-même vers le chalet numéro 1. Du chalet numéro 1, on a le choix de revenir par le sentier le plus long, ou le sentier le plus a l'ouest, qui est plus court.
