Rented a canoe from Plymouth Ski and Sport in Plymouth. Adam, Zippy, and I took a leisurely paddle down the Baker River tothe Ramp at the new Rotary Riverfront Park in Plymouth. About 8.7 miles in just under 3 hours. All standard disclaimers apply: IIRC. YRMV. IMHO. FWIW. HYOH. No warrenties, expressed or implied, are made that any information in this post is accurate, ...

I took this trip with a group of very nice kayakers on a beautiful day. We left from King's Landing on the one way trip down the river to Wilson's Landing. That meant that we had to have some vehicles in both locations. The river is really a beautiful place to take your time and enjoy what mother nature provides. The number of turtles and wading birds spotted were limitless. A...

Windy day kayak from beautiful Quiet Waters Park to Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. The sailboats were out in force. It's a 300-400 meter walk from the parking area to the launch, so bring your wheels or dolly; it would be a long carry. This is an easy paddle if it's calm, but there's basically a wind tunnel that runs north to south down the bay, which can make things much ...

Kayaking in Whiting and Denny's Bay. This is a beautiful, mostly protected place to see lots of seals. The tidal Reversing Falls can be paddled back and forth at or within 10 minutes of slack tide (based off of the Birch Islands tide station), but expect at least 6 knot (7mph, 11kmh) currents at both the rock and the standing wave even at this "calmer" time. You'll feel the...

Went up river with the current and wind. Stopped and turned around at the upper river put-in into the wind and against the current. At the mid-way point the wind shifted, and for a brief moment died out completely. Finished by riding the wake of a fishing boat from the mouth of the inlet to the docks.

This is a great flatwater paddle with excellent bird watching. I saw large numbers of great egrets, great blue herons, green herons and various birds of prey. On Bull Run you feel miles from anywhere...until you get close to the Fairfax Rod and Gun Club, which jolts you out of your reverie, but this is really a wonderful place to paddle. We have lots of trip reports on our ...

After 2 solid days of heavy rain the Pemi was fantastic. we averaged about 6 mph for the 10 miles from Robins Nest road to Blair Bridge and the Country Cow Launch. We saw a hundred or more kayakers and tubers out there today. Caution: 2 miles below Blair Bridge is Livermore Falls. It is an experts only cascade. Several deaths have occured here over the past 10 years.

Out, to Site 20B on State Line island, then head the next day out to Graveyard Island for some camping, and return the 3rd day to the start. Not a hard or long paddle, but open water can be dangerous for the newer paddlers.

Nice, easy paddle. Current was decent when we did the float. Time includes about a 20 minute lunch stop. Pretty sandbars to stop and swim or rest. Excellent PDF map and info here: http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt/guide/designated_paddle/Shoal_guide.pdf

1/2 of round trip from boat launch at Englebright to the first rapids on the South Yuba. Did not notice current on the Yuba except at the rapids. Two people simultaneously peddling and paddling in a Hobie Mirage Oasis. Called it Moderate only due to length of trip; is tiring in a paddle only kayak if you are not used to it. Bring some dollar bills for the day pass machine ...

This trip will take you from Snowhill Rd down the Econ (Econlockhatchee) River from a small landing under the Snowhill Road bridge down the river to the boat landing on the St Johns River at RT46. It a little over 12 miles. Most of the property along the river is posted, so don't expect to go into any woods. There are many places where you can stop and take a break without any...

The kayaking trip will take you down the Rock Springs Run. The day I did it there were a few obstacles. There is a launching fee and if you want a ride back to the start, there is a charge for that. Check my webpage for more information at http://tomchoma.blogspot.com/

For a single day activity, this combination certainly deserves a very difficult rating. When you are all finished, you will have trail run approximately 7 miles and paddled approximately 10 miles. Begin anywhere in the Crosswinds area. As you can see on the map, I started at the fishing pier just past the bridge. Paddle 5 miles to New Hope Overlook. Trail run the blue and ...
