- Try to stay north away from 16th and Mission. The further west you go (Valencia, Guerrero, Dolors) the less shady it gets.
- Tons of bars and restaurants
- BART is right there, which is convenient

- Anything near polk street in between lombard and california
- if you get south of california you are bordering the tenderloin which is sketchy, in general avoid anything near city hall.
- No trains from here, only buses
- Parking is a nightmare

- Anything near 18th and dolores is awesome
- Right next to mission where there are tons of bars and restaurants and you have bart and muni trains

4: North Beach
- I am not a big fan but some people swear by this neighborhood. Beautiful old victorians that tend to be small. no train.
- Parking is a nightmare
- Basically a little Italy

5: Cole Valley
- Good location, right on the N line. Apartments tend to be expensive but you can find really good deals if you are lucky. There is a great dive bar there too and you are right by the haight.
- You are right on the edge of the fog belt. Basically anything west of stanyan is in the fog about 50% of the year.

6: Inner Sunset
- Good cheap housing. Lived here for a year in a house with a yard. You are right next to golden gate park and right on the n line which is nice. But it is in the fog belt and a lot of people think it is boring.

- Young families, very nice, getting a little fancy
- Some amazing apartments

- Can be a bit boring but a really nice neighborhood

- bordering on yuppie/marina but can be a nice neighborhood. Also near the presidio.

people move in cause they get sucked in by the hayes street. But it is a shady neighborhood and your car will get broken into, no matter what.

lots of lofts but i wouldn't recommend living there. it is a virtual ghost town during the weekends, though it's changing a bit

and my favorite place on this earth - Dutch Goose. Unreal burger and
you have to try the deviled eggs. I have never had a deviled egg that
is even a quarter as good as they make them. i have seen people buy
