Probably my favourite veggie restaurant.
Love the brown rice noodles and papaya salad. Best to eat in. Delivery takes ages and the servings are smaller.
**Update: on my last visit (end 2011), prices seemed to have gone up and portions have shrunk, plus we had a long wait for our food.

A great little Vietnamese restaurant in a small alley in Truc Bach. Lovely atmosphere for a group dinner, especially if you sit upstairs (on the floor around low tables). Good to have another Vietnamese restaurant option around town!
Specialises in fish dishes, but are a bit on the pricey side.
Try the fried field crabs (
cua ??ng rang) for a tasty crunch to go with an ice cold beer!

Da Paolo probably has some of the best pizza in Hanoi. If you want a lovely night out, at a lower cost, you can bring your own bottle of wine and glasses, plus some cheese and sit on the grass outside Da Paolo (overlooking the lake) and order pizza. They'll bring it out to you. If you want to sit on the chairs, just buy some beers or coconuts from the stall owners.
