ISSBD Birdwalk

Route revised July 3, 2012 -- we will likely spend the entire walk on the north side of the river

Meet directly in front of the Shaw Conference Centre (9797 Jasper Avenue) at 7:00am, Tuesday July 10

Pedestrian bridge across the North Saskatchewan -- rock doves, gulls, if lucky assorted water fowl

Rock art -- converted into prairie dog (Richardson ground squirrel) homes

Seed bell here has been taken over by some red squirrels living amongst the roses

Hopefully still active on the day of the bird walk

Song sparrow has been seen singing here quite regularly

Depending on state of river, some waterfowl (mallards, geese) and some gulls should be evident here

I keep on hearing them in this area, but haven't seen any yet

Picnic tables, with forest vantage point -- hopefully will see chickadees, chipping sparrows, magpies, waxwings and other birds at this site

Roof of River Valley Adventures has nice vantage point of forest and grassland; can depart from here to interesting areas if we notice bird activity

End of bridge gives nice vantage point for possible sightings of yellow warblers and red eyed vireos in trees
