0: 3 Crow Bar
3 Crow is a solid joint for free wi-fi, but it doesn't extend very far. You'll want to set up either inside or at the back bar. The patio benches are just beyond the wireless range. Don't forget 2-4-1 Wednesdays/Sundays, but they'll be packed. Watch out for sporting events.
Cheapest Food Item: Hummus, $4 (it's not very good)
Laptop?: We've done it before, we'll do it again.
Más sobre 3 Crow Bar3: Blackbird Tattoo & Gallery
This 12 South tattoo parlor inexplicably has unprotected wi-fi, even though its neighbors apparently don't. We can't recommend going to get a tattoo just to use their wi-fi. But if you're going to get one anyway...
Cheapest Thing: A $50 tattoo of a heart with "Mom" in it.
Laptop?: Probably not, unless you can be very still while watching kitten videos on YouTube.
Más sobre Blackbird Tattoo & Gallery4: Bongo Java
The flagship coffeeshop for Belmont students. The porch is nice, but we all know that you really want to sit at the underpants table in the back nook of the seating area. Avoid at 10 a.m., Belmont doesn't schedule any classes that hour.
Cheapest Thing: Regular Coffee, $1.50
Best Value: Bongo Basic, $5 for two eggs, hash browns, toast and coffee.
Laptop?: Yes, but don't expect fast download speeds.
Más sobre Bongo Java5: Bongo Java Roasting Co
The eastern outpost of the Bongo Java empire. Differs from the others in that they close earlier, don't serve much food and roast a metric crapload of coffee in the back.
Cheapest Thing: A bagel with butter, $1.50
Laptop?: Sure.
Más sobre Bongo Java Roasting Co7: Cafe Coco
Your 24-hour cafe destination for burnouts and weirdos since 19whatever, Cafe Coco is the ideal wi-fi joint: decent food, coffee and booze. It's spacious enough that you can be inside and not all up in everybody's business.
Cheapest Thing: Cup of soup, $3.59
Pro-Tip: If the line up front is crazy, order at the back bar (if it's open).
Laptop?: Yes. Connections slow at peak hours though.
Más sobre Cafe Coco8: Centennial Park
The last time we went to Centennial Park to use their wi-fi, a homeless guy tried to convince us to give him a ride to Knoxville. As long as you're willing to accept that possibility, the great outdoors are open for your wireless usage (during park hours, close to the Parthenon).

Más sobre Dentistry of Nashville13: Drifters
It ain't the best barbecue in town, but it is the most convenient for East Siders. Which means we keep coming back even though we're pretty sure one of our friends got food poisoning there. We think we do it because of that time we saw an east side hipster in a handlebar mustache and jaunty hat dominate someone in ping pong.
Cheapest Food Item: Chips and Salsa, $2.49
Recommended Food: Pulled Pork Dinner, $6.99
Password: 6152622776 (possibly without the 615)
Laptop?: Maybe if you take it on the deck.
Más sobre Drifters15: The End
Who knows if this will stick around, but last time we were at The End for our biweekly Diarrhea Planet show, we managed to pick up a stray wireless signal, possible emanating from the stoop apartments next door.
Laptop?: You might want to saran wrap your keyboard, Girl Talk style, before you attempt that.
Más sobre The End16: Fido
Look, we don't mean to be a buzzkill here but Fido is perhaps your worst choice for free wi-fi in the coffeeshop sphere. Yeah, they've got good food and coffee. But parking is a nightmare and they shut off the wi-fi regularly at peak hours to disburse the wireless riffraff that accumulates. Get in, get out, don't expect to hunker down.
Cheapest Food Item: Bagel (with butter and jam), $1
Laptop?: Only in off hours.
Más sobre Fido17: Five Spot
Good ol' Five Spot. They're the most underrated venue in town, so any reason to sing their praises is a good one. If you're going to camp out at Five Spot, we suggest doing it on a Tuesday, when $2 Tuesdays is in full effect: $2 Yazoo, $2 cover (unless you get there before the door guy shows up) and $2 hot dogs (!)(?). Nice.
Laptop?: Maybe not on the center tables or at the bar, but definitely near the door.
Más sobre Five Spot18: Flying Saucer
Ooh, an emporium! Flying Saucer has the best beer selection in Nashville, but you're going to have to watch out for random nights where they charge a cover -- as if anyone really wants to see the cover band. Beware trivia night as well. It can get crowded.
Cheapest thing: ask about beers on firesale. Check the website for specials.
Laptop?: It's possible. We don't know if we'd recommend it though.
Password: Beerknurd
Más sobre Flying Saucer23: Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant
Las Palmas has a devoted local following, but we're pretty sure even those people can agree with us that the Franklin Pike Las Palmas is gross. Like, mondo gross. But they do have enormous margaritas. So, we'll give them a pass.
Cheapest Food Item: Chicken, Beef or Bean Nachos, $5.49
Laptop?: Sure, why not? Your food's going to be a while anyway.
Más sobre Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant25: The Local Taco
Some people think that The Local Taco is overrated, but we're of the opinion that those people are monsters. The only thing is that their parking situation is atrocious.
Cheapest Food Item: Chips & Salsa, $2.50
Laptop?: As long as you're not parked in the lot, you can do whatever the hell you want as far as we're concerned.
Más sobre The Local Taco26: The Mall at Green Hills
There are a few different places in the mall that are solid free wi-fi zones, but your best option is probably the bench outside of the Apple Store.
Más sobre The Mall at Green Hills30: Melrose Neighborhood Pub
Everybody's favorite place to second-hand smoke. It gets packed during happy hour and on nights with 2-for-1 specials, but it's probably worth it if you want to get some solid drinking and wi-fiing on.
Más sobre Melrose Neighborhood Pub31: Mercy Lounge
Mercy's wireless connection seldom works, but it does come to life from time to time. Look for the "linksys" connection, you may have to hang in the backbar or on the patio to get it. Also: the back of Cannery and near the box office.
Cheapest Event: 8 Off 8th, obvs.
Laptop?: Only if the staff knows who you are. Otherwise things might get weird.
Más sobre Mercy Lounge32: Moe's Southwest Grill - Belle Meade
Moe's is like a McDonalds for yuppie parents who look down on McDonalds. Which is to say, this place will be swarming with children and disaffected parents wearing oversized sunglasses. If you love corporate mandated shouted greetings and running children, this is the place for you!
Cheapest Food Item: We've seen a lot of grown-ass adults order from the kid's menu. Go for it.
Laptop?: At your own risk.
Más sobre Moe's Southwest Grill - Belle Meade34: Nashville Public Library
Ah, the library. Favorite internet destination for downtown's schoolchildren and homeless populations. The perfect place for you to check out a scratched Jane's Addiction CD and a Stephen King novel. Also: internet.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the Library has a podcast about pop culture? It's true! And weird!
Más sobre Nashville Public Library35: Nuvo Burrito
Beloved Five Points burrito joint Nuvo is pricey, but it doesn't have children rampaging through it like your average Chipotle. Enjoy the loop of indie pop videos on the TVs, get complimented for ordering properly.
Cheapest Food Item: Chips & Salsa, $2.50
Laptop: Go for it.
Más sobre Nuvo Burrito43: Sam & Zoe's
Much like at Fido, Sam & Zoe shut off their wi-fi at peak hours to clear out the riffraff.
Más sobre Sam & Zoe's44: Shell Gas Station
Why does this gas station have wireless? Good question!
Cheapest Item: Probably Funyons. Maybe an air freshener.
Laptop?: Not unless you're the manager.
Más sobre Shell Gas Station45: Sky Blue Cafe
Sky Blue is positively our favorite breakfast spot on the East Side, since we're not nearly fancy enough for Marche. Two for one coffee drinks between 7 and 9! You guys! The only downside is that they get slammed on the weekends and they close early most days.
Cheapest Food Item: Two-Stack Pancakes, $5
Laptop?: If you can handle the dirty looks from that brunching yuppie couple who wants you get GTFO, sure.
Más sobre Sky Blue Cafe46: Springwater
Ah yes, the Springwater. Home to dozens of species of bacteria, including some currently under review by the science community. We shudder to think what this place looks like in the daylight, but it beats Undertones, at least.
Cheapest Thing: PBR, maybe?
Laptop?: We've seen it happen. Not advisable during Natural Child shows or in the presence of Dave Cloud.
Más sobre Springwater56: Undertones
Undertones, if you're not familiar, is the bar above The Muse. Didn't know that there was a bar above The Muse? We're sorry for crushing that perfect dreamworld you were living in.
Cheapest Food Item: Quesadilla, $4.
Laptop?: If you really want to hang out awkwardly in the bar above The Muse, more power to you.
Más sobre Undertones57: Whole Foods Market
GOOD LUCK. The Whole Foods wireless is about reliable as your burnout hippie friend who was supposed to pick you up from the airport an hour ago.
Cheapest Food Item: We don't know. An apple? Something from the hot bar?
Laptop?: They do have tables. So...
Más sobre Whole Foods Market58: Yazoo Brewing Company
Nashville's OG local brewery has a pretty righteous tasting room, where you can get all manner of beers brewed by Yazoo -- including the rare Gerst beer. You'll need to enter the password "buybeers" to hop onto their network.
