california - Borrego Springs - Pumpkin Patch

More Anza Borrego Hiking This is a way to get to the Pumpkin Patch. This part of the park is rather sandy, so be warned. An AWD is highly recommended and probably necessary. At HWY S22 mp 34-35 exit Arroya Salado Campground, direction 17 Palms. At the first Xing left, second Xing right. 5 Palm left and follow the sign Pumpkin Patch. Just after 5 Palm the road gets more interesting. The road is narrow and one or more wheels may loose contact with the road. It's possible to hike from this point to the Pumpkin Patch. Follow the signs Pumpkin Patch. The Pumpkin Patch is just outside the park boundary. That's why the complete area is fenced off. No place to hike, only to take a look. Less impressive than some pictures suggest. Pictures Driving time: 40 Minutes one way.
