0: Pauly Saal Bar & Restaurant Garden
This is the place that describes itself as "the place everyone wants to go to but can't afford." Expect to see beautiful people drinking expensive champagne. And expect to be shocked at the prices. Not for the feint of heart. (read: good for a business dinner.) From the owners of Grill Royal.

(A Boris recommendation.) A fantastic neighborhood dining experience. The rack of lamb was amazing. The noodles (pappardelle) were perfect. And the waiter just made it over the top. Charming and fun. Great time. ~MT

[TRY] from berlin.unlike "a whole army of grills atop block wood tables, ruby red lighting and black-uniformed waitstaff manning the two-story loft. Entrées include tscheon pal, thin slices of sweet marinated pork, bibimbop and rarer dishes like soon dubu, a spicy soup with silken tofu. An upper-floor level holds a future bar and lounge area, and the food is, frankly, delicious." ~MT

Amazing restaurant in an old electric factory. Beautiful setting. Food is bordering molecular but certainly modern cuisine. Delightful waitstaff. A must go. ~MT

Berlin's version of Balthazar. Where the beautiful people dine. Come here for the scene, and enjoy a good meal while people watching! ~MT
Más sobre Borchardt16: Schwarz-Sauer
Bar where we live. It's permanently crowded in an unexplainable way. The rather drab interior and surly service aren't the draw. But great crowds make this a fun spot. ~MT
Más sobre Schwarz-Sauer17: Konnopkes Imbiss
Always a line here. Currywurst place under the U2 line that's been there since 1930. The fries are outstanding. More of an institution than a culinary destination. ~MT
Más sobre Konnopkes Imbiss18: Cookies Cream
High end vegetarian restaurant. Worth a visit just for the experience of trying to find and get in the front door. And then to the restaurant upstairs. Very avant garde food but the time I was there it was lacking something. Desserts were the best, so save room for that if you go... ~MT
Más sobre Cookies Cream19: Bocca di Bacco
Best Italian restaurant in Berlin that I've been to. A true power dining experience. Food is fresh, beautiful and amazing. Go here but reserve ahead. ~MT
Más sobre Bocca di Bacco20: Newton Bar
If you're looking for a drink near the gendarmarkt in Mitte, go here. Drinks are the usual but the scene is great. Lavish surroundings. Choose between the upstairs that's more Whiskey club or the downstairs with the great nudes of Helmut Newton, both are great places for cocktails and conversations! ~MT
Más sobre Newton Bar21: Theodor Tucher
Business dinner friendly. The proximity right next to the Brandenburg Gate would suggest this is a tourist restaurant, yet the food and customers seem more business oriented. Priced on the upper end, this is a good place to refer when colleagues ask where to dine when they are visiting from out of town. ~MT
Más sobre Theodor Tucher22: Wein-bar Lars Rutz
Extravagant restaurant. Best I've tried in Berlin. Each course comes with two courses! (Same ingredient done two ways) Prepare for 120 euro/head minimum. There is a inexpensive restaurant downstairs if you'd like to try the place on a budget. Not tried it but the night I was there it was heavy on blood sausage. ~MT

Excellent steak on the Spree. People dress up to dine here. Extensive wine list. Another business traveler recommendation. Expensive.
Más sobre Grill Royal25: Rogacki
You eat standing up at tall tables. There are three or four stalls that offer fresh grilled fish, meat dishes, and more cold cuts and cheeses than you can imagine. "go on Saturday and you will understand why. here's it's about the smoked fish and fresh fish, the food bar, the history of the family there, and the staff uniforms.... " ~MT
Más sobre Rogacki 26: KaDeWe
Great food hall on the upper level with at least 10 different mini-dining options. The Oyster bar is always packed but it has a great selection of German, French and other European oysters. KaDeWe champagne is a good choice to complement. Also good are the fresh fish counter (they will fry anything they sell) and the lobster counter ($$$) Worth traveling to the West Side for this experience. ~MT

[TRY] Riva Bar suggestion. One X. This is the bar over the original Cafe Einstein. If you go to the Cafe for dinner, stop here afterwards!
Más sobre Lebensstern40: Kater Holzig
A seriously FUNKY "only in Berlin" spot. Looks like an abandoned building turned artists enclave. Katerscamaus the restaurant has a surly attitude, piss poor service with decent food but the location alone should bring you here at least once for dinner. A colleague was actually peed on by the house dog while dining here. Expect the unexpected.
Más sobre Kater Holzig41: Perlin Weinbar
Neighborhood spot with huge charm. Rather unexpected. No menu. No prices. This is a restaurant affiliated with a wine shop. A 2 Euro coil inserted in the mouth of a small statue grants you privileges to taste all 10 of the wines they have open that evening. A nice mix of German, French and Italian. Pour one or as many glasses of the wines you like. You're offered dinner. Choose from the soup, salad, main and/or dessert. When the meal is done you put as much money in the dish as you feel the meal was worth. They will not hand you a bill. (Note. for reference, their sister restaurant charges 18 euro for a four course menu.)

Excellent. great Omakase nigiri. Wonderful rolls. Good tempura. Even a nice Sake. Easily the best sushi in Berlin.
Más sobre Sasaya61: Pappa e Ciccia
[Meh] The star of this restaurant is the deli next door that serves some fantastic antipasti, oilves, reggiano etc. And a nice selection of affordable italian wine. I get my under 10 euro house wine there. (a Nero d Avola) But the restaurant is hit or miss. I had a fantastic artichoke risotto but the starters (arugula salad, antipasti) were so so and the penne arribaita was terrible. Average waitstaff. Not recommended.
