One of the premier wildflower hikes in Auburn SRA. Trailhead is on the right side of Iowa Hill Road in Colfax .7-miles past Mineral Bar Campground. The Windy Point area is quite exposed and does get warm in the sun. Trail includes narrow portions with steep drop-offs. This track includes two new trails that are not on the official Auburn SRA maps, river access and the spring trail. The two new trails add another mile total to the hike and are spectacular. River access tracks include a ~150-yard rock scramble to where the stream we crossed meets the North Fork of the American River.
