I suggest hitting the brick and mortar location not far from the Railway Club because they’ve got an added bonus: seasoned fries you season with::text like too many choices AND ice cream. description: An English pub where you can catch the EPL games.

2: The Morrissey Pub • 1227 Granville St

description: More of a club at night with DJs & comedy but they have breakfast! You can get the American, you know, bacon/ham/sausage, hashbrowns, toast, and eggs, for $9 and they have a kid’s breakfast for $2 (hotcake, bacon/ham/sausage.) Also a great taps selection including at least four dedicated to ciders. Plus their bourbon and scotch list is lovely. Ask for a Honey Badger cocktail.www.themorrisseypub.com

description: Located in Surrey, near the Surrey Central Skytrain station stop. Or as I call it, getting drunk via Skytrain.

description: Brands::text like George T Stagg, Pappy 20, William Weller at the lowest prices in town according to the local whiskey drinker.

9: Clough Club Cocktail Tavern • 212 Abbott St

description: Order the Apiary drink. It is lit on fire. Trust me.

10: The Irish Heather • 212 Carrall St

description: (back room is the Sha Been) They have happy hour priced whiskies in the back room.

11: Vancouver Aquarium

description: If you take the bus there, #19 Bus to Stanley Park. It’s an easy and short trek from downtown plus you receive a $2 admission discount when you display a valid transit pass, such as a FareCard, Daypass, Employer Pass, Farebox, or FareSaver. 12: Lynn Canyon Park Suspension Bridge

description: This is FREE and the same bridge height as Capilano Suspension Bridge. The #229 Phibbs Exchange/Westlynn bus & the #228 Lynn Valley bus both stop near Lynn Canyon Park. Take the #229 bus from the bus loop at Phibbs Exchange or take the #228 or #229 from the Seabus, which travels between Vancouver and North Vancouver. 15: Granville Island Brewing Co. • 1441 Cartwright St.

description: Here’s a strange one. They allow you only one flight of tasters or one beer per person and cite some law about not being able to serve more than that. There’s a store attached, but still, so weird for a brewery. Most of their brews are 4-6%, too. To make the trek to Granville Island worth a bit more, also hit up Dockside Brewery.

16: Steamworks • 375 Water St.

description: Tourist destination but in the middle of the day when no one is around and you sit at the bar, it’s fantastic. There’s a store attached to pick some up to go and a large patio. These beers actually are higher in alcohol percentage than some of the other breweries I’ve visited. http://steamworks.com/

description: Just everything a caesar (Canadians call bloody marys caesars) could contain is attempted here. No really, here’s a sample from their menu: the Bacon & Egger has vodka, bacon & a hard boiled quails egg;  The Godzilla is vodka, sake, soy sauce, wasabi, edamame beans. description: Located inside of the Granville Island Hotel, they don’t cut you off after a flight or one brew. Nice selection but again, low on the alcohol percentages.

description: Sushi and my favorite spicy tuna cone. Good prices, quick service and very busy. Open until midnight. Mmmm late night sushi right on busy Granville Street. I may or may not frequent this place.

26: Stackhouse Burger Bar • 1224 Granville St.

description: Ahi tuna burger!!!! They also have a beautiful portobello veggie burger, with a side of fries. No fries? Add onion rings OR poutine as a pricey side. Also open until midnight, 1 a.m. on the weekends. A bit pricey for a burger, $14-21, though but I guess that’s what fame does to food. www.stackhouseburgerbar.com

description: Quite a bit cheaper ($9-13) than StackHouse and even better? Daily drink specials! Lamb burger is $10.50 plus they get soy patties made especially for their veggie burgers and have tapas. Yes, tapas at a burger joint. Oh Canada! www.roxyburger.com
