Po'omau Canyon Lookout Trail Mohihi Road, which is off the Waimea Canyon Road (550) and across from the Kokee Park, will lead you to the Po'omau Trail. From the Mohihi Road turnoff, it's 4.6 miles to the trailhead which is marked with the Na Ala Hele sign on the right side of the road. You will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle or at least a vehicle with high clearance to drive all the way to the trail. Start your short walk over a footbridge and through groves of Norfolk and sugi pines. After crossing the bridge you will cross a hunters road and the trail picks up on the other side. The trail ends at the canyon rim just 1/4 mile in total length. From your viewpoint you can see Po'omau Stream flowing to meet the Waimea River. When you return back and reach the hunters road, turn right and walk about ¼ mile and you will find another Canyon Trail on the right. Be very careful if you attempt to go up the steep trail because the trail has very loose footing. The view on top the ridge is inspiring if you can get by the sheer drop off on the short hike up. (It's not very strenuous but DEFINITELY DANGEROUS) All My Condos in Kauai
