What do you think of when you thinkof Germany? Do you think of the Berlin wall? Or the Brandenburg gate? Or evenfeeling the warmth in the cold months? Well those are all right! Germany can bea comforting home to fit anyone! So, if you want to see what I mean, then goahead!
Berlin, Germany is located on thecontinent of Europe. The best way to getthere is by airplane. You can fly fromDetroit, MI to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam to Berlin. The entire flight takes 13 hours.
Aroundthis time of year (March), Berlin has very nice weather with averages of 47degrees F. But when summertime sweepsby, air takes a cool down with averages of 75 degrees in July. In March, youwould need to pack a light coat and sweatpants.
The first place I would visit wouldbe the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall wasa wall that separated East Germans from going to the West German side. This wall was torn down in 1989.
The second place I would visit would be theBrandenburg Gate. The Brandenburg Gateis a special place where millions of Germans gather to celebrate this wonderfulday. This holiday is called Unity Dayand was started in 1990. This dayrepresents when East Germany and West Germany became one country again.
The third place I would visit would be theReichstag Building. This building iswhere Germany’s parliament meets to make laws. It is separated into two groups – the Bundestag and the Bundesrat.
A factabout Berlin is its population is 3.5 million. Berlin is the biggest city in Germany and also the capital of thecountry. Berlin’s heart of culture isart, with 153 art museums. One of themost famous museums is the Gemaldegalerie which is a painting museum.
An interesting fact about Berlin isthat in-line skating has become popular. Most big cities have “blade nights” that close the streets to cars, sopeople skate safely. Berlin has so manyamazing things to do that I can’t wait to go there.

In down town Limayou can see the colonial history and the central square called Plaza de Armas. You can also see the archbishop’s palace that stands next to the cathedral. Also Lima has many excellent museums and the newest one is the underground goldmuseum. There you can see weavings, pottery and gold craftsmanship of Peru’searly civilizations. If you go to Miraflores you will find Larcormar. Larcomaris a mall that has an ocean view and the mall does not have covering becauseLima does not have snow or heavy rain also you can go Hang gliding next to themall.
Lima is a city found by a Spanish leader 300 years ago, sopeople mostly speak Spanish. Lima is the capital of Peru and is Peru's largestcity. Many Peruvians who live in Lima work in factories and also for thegovernment. They love music, you can see bands playing on the streets andrestaurants. In Lima they celebrate Easter with a parade with people holdingcandles. They love eating potatoes with rice and meats. Their famous dessert isrice pudding. They::text like Llamas as their pets. Bridgetown Barbados is the largest city on the island of Barbados. It is also the capital of Barbados. Barbados is in the Caribbean. It is very small, as it is only 21 miles in length and 14 miles in width, and covers an area of 166 square miles. Barbados is situated in the western area of the North Atlantic Ocean and 62 miles east of the Windward Islands and The Caribbean Sea. It is actually the easternmost island in the Caribbean. Interestingly enough, Barbados is completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. It is not touched by the Caribbean Sea at all!
There are many ways to get to Barbados. The most convenient ways to get there are by air and by sea, since it is an island and there is no land bridge to Barbados from America. A lot of people take luxury cruise ships to all of the Caribbean islands. Many others choose to fly on planes to get directly to Barbados.
The weather in Bridgetown is tropical and mild. It is usually warm and sunny and when it does rain, it is usually in quick showers so you can enjoy the rest of the day! You would need to bring warm weather clothes::text like T-shirts and shorts and of course, swimsuits! You would also need to bring sunglasses, hats and suntan lotion. The beautiful sunrays deliver an average of 86 degree Fahrenheit weather, with the northeast trade winds consistently blowing to keep it breezy instead of too hot. The weather is fairly consistent year round with more rain during hurricane season, which runs June through September.
Activities in Bridgetown include sailing, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, water skiing, golfing, shopping, and viewing cricket matches, horse races and polo matches. To see a piece of American history, you can visit a church that George Washington attended when he was eleven. If you::text like beaches, Bridgetown has many beautiful ones to enjoy, such as the beaches along the South Coast Boardwalk. If you::text like history, you must see the National Heroes Square. It has many historical buildings and monuments of past leaders. For more history and culture, the Barbados Garrison, located in Bridgetown, is a UNESCO World Heritage sight. That means it was deemed to have special cultural or physical significance. Another amazing place to see is the Harrison Caves. They are located in the middle of Barbados and the tour takes you on a tram ride underground to view these naturally formed wonders of the earth.
Barbados has a resident population of about 250,000 people, with over 90,000 people living in Bridgetown. Barbadian people, or Bajan’s - as they refer to themselves, love life. They are friendly, happy people who enjoy the arts, value education and love to watch sports and celebrate, especially during Carnival! Barbados has a labor force of about 125,000 skilled and well-educated people. The education is based on the British system, and produces a literacy rate of 99%, which is one of the highest in the world. Bridgetown was initially a key hub for trade and commerce. Now, most of Barbados’ income comes from manufacturing and tourism.
There are many interesting facts about Barbados and Bridgetown in particular. The name Barbados came from the Bearded Fig Trees that once were found abundantly on the island. Also, Bridgetown was originally named Indian Bridge. Before the English took Barbados, the Portuguese used it as a rest stop where they picked up food. Barbados has always flown the British flag until it’s independence in 1966. It has the third oldest parliament in the world, having 358 years of continuous parliamentary government. Barbados is also the birthplace of Grammy winning artist Rihanna. It is the only coral island in the region that has all white sand beaches. Also, Barbados was the first Caribbean island to have piped water and it still maintains pure drinking water. Lastly, in an interesting tie to the United States, did you know that South Carolina was originally settled by Barbadians and its first Governor was a Barbadian?

London is the capital of the U.K,and has been described as the world cultural capital! More than 300languages are spoken within its boundaries! Explore the wonders through thisjourney!
London’s location isvery unique, sitting on top of the prime meridian. It’s located on the river Thames. It’s also issplit into 2 parts, Westminster and London. The center is truly the City ofLondon, though people say the surroundings are part of London. The best way toget there is by plane.
London’s climate isn’t very different than Southern U.K, andis full of twists and turns. Despite it’s reputation for being a rainycity, London doesn’t get much more rain than Rome, which gets 32.8 inaveragely in a year. London only gets two months of “summer”, and by that Imean months that get temperatures over 70˚F(averagely), and that’s July andAugust. Winter temperatures seldom fall below −4 °C (24.8 °F) or riseabove 14 °C (57.2 °F). I’d suggest a thin long sleeved shirt for summer,or a medium thick coat for winter.
Thiscity’s unique places are all around you! Visit the Shard, the tallestbuilding in London, or watch from the spectacular view of the London Eye, orelse explore the hidden wonders of Buckingham Palace. The Shard is a giant95-storie tall building, and was finished on March 30th, 2012, andwas inaugurated on July 5th, 2012. The London Eye was the tallestFerris wheel in the world, until the Star Of Nanchang surpassed it. Buckinghampalace was originally named Buckingham house, because it started out as atownhouse for The Duke of Buckingham.
London is the seat of the U.K government, located in the Westminster Palace. The Romans named it Londinium. Didyou know? London is the BIGGEST city in Europe!

WELCOME TO ARIZONA!
Come and explore the Gold Mines and the Wild Wild West in the Grand Canyon State of Arizona!!
Arizona is located in North America, in the United States. It’s boarders are Utah, Nevada, California, Mexico and New Mexico. The bodies of water that surround Arizona are Lake Powell, the Gulf of California and lake Mead. Phoenix is the capital of Arizona. Phoenix is located in the south central part of state on the Salt River. You can travel to Phoenix, Arizona by car, bus, train and plane. I would take a plane.
Arizona’s climate changes from one region to the next. The mountains have very cold winters that are harsh, but the desert winters are sunny and mild. In June, July and August it can get up to 100F. Winter brings milder temperature to the desert of about 70F. At night it can drop to below freezing. For this trip I would pack t-shirts, shorts, long sleeve shirts, shorts, pants, shoes, socks, Jacket, hat, gloves, sun glasses and don’t forget your sunscreen!!!
There are so many fun things to do in Arizona. These are my top three things I would::text like to do and go to in Arizona. First, I would visit The Grand Canyon. The reason I chose this was because there are trails to hike on or you can go on a mule-back ride. The Peach Springs are awesome to see and you can visit the Native American sites and ruins.
Second, I suggest going to the Goldfield Ghost Town and go on a gold mine tour.
My last stop, would be the Petrified Forest National Park. I chose this because there are piles of colorful petrified wood at this park. Also, there is a dinosaur exhibit and you get to go on a tour and look at fossils of a creature named “Gertie”.
Arizona became a state on February 14, 1912 and is the 48th state. Arizona is known as the “The Grand Canyon State”. The States named came from the Indian word Arizonac which means “Small Springs”. Arizona’s population is over 6 million and is the 15th largest state. The people of Arizona are very diverse. Arizona has a large Hispanic population. Arizona has the third largest Native American population among the states, about 250,000 people. Navajo craftspeople are world famous for hand woven textiles and pottery. In 1887, Phoenix became the capital of the Arizona territory. Phoenix is the largest city in Arizona, with more than 4 million people and is the 6th largest city in the country. Phoenix metropolitan area is the states industrial leader. Manufacturing, mining, and agriculture are Arizona’s top industries. Phoenix is home to professional basketball, baseball, football, and hockey franchises. As well as, The Phoenix Art museum, The world-class Arizona Symphony, and The Phoenix Museum of History.
Did you know that...
Arizona provides enough cotton to make one pair of jeans for every American. There is about 50,000 tons of Arizona copper used to make coins every year. The London Bridge came to Arizona in over 10,000 pieces. It is now in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Arizonans do not change their clocks to daylight savings time. Only on the Navajo Reservation, the Navajo use daylight savings time. Arizona features an unusual college called the Arizona Cowboy College. The Gila monster is the only venomous lizard in the United States.

What would you expect to see when yougo to Cancun? Would you expect to be in thenice weather all the time? Or would youexpect to go swim in Tulum Beach? Bothof those are correct. Cancun has manyinteresting family vacation places to visit, so go visit Cancun.
Cancun is on the continent of NorthAmerica. It is located in the YucatanPeninsula on the Gulf of Campeche and Gulf of Mexico. The best way to get there from Michigan is totake a plane. There is a direct flightfrom Detroit on Spirit Airlines and it takes about 3 hours.
Theweather is very nice in Cancun. Theaverage high temperature is between 81 and 90 degrees F year round with Januarybeing the coldest month and June, July and August being the warmestmonths. The average lows are between 67and 78, so it stays pretty warm during the nights. If you were to travel to Cancun, I recommendyou bring a swimsuit, shorts, and short sleeves. Don’t forget the sunglasses!
Thefirst site I would visit would be the Mayan Ruins. We will be going there for spring break andwe will be climbing the steps the last year that you can climbs them.
I would also::text like to visit Tulum Beach. There are a variety of things to do at TulumBeach such as zip lining, cavern rappel, and cave snorkeling. The third place I would visit would be theGulf of Mexico. There is a reallyinteresting whale/shark snorkel experience that I would love to do. You can snorkel the reef and spot some reallyinteresting animals such as dolphins and flamingos.
Oneinteresting thing that Mexicans do is always give a handshake when meetingsomeone. If you are friends withsomeone, you may give them a handshake and a light hug. Another strong cultural thing that Mexicansmay do is folk dancing. There is a hugevariety of dances.
Thepopulation of Cancun is 628,306. Most ofthe people who live in Cancun are from Yucatan or other parts of Mexico. There also is a growing population ofAmericans and Europeans. There is ashield that represents the city. It isdivided into three cultural symbols – red for the rays of the sun, blue for theCaribbean Sea, and yellow for the hot sand.
As youcan see, there are many interesting places in Cancun to visit. From the very nice temperatures to TulumBeach and the growing populations of Europeans and Americans, maybe some of youwill be the Americans that settle in Cancun.

There is always something new and interesting to learn about Mexico!!
From it’s fascinating cultures to its colorful celebrations and delicious food...
Mexico is located on the continent of North America, along the southern boarder of the U.S.. Arizona, Texas, and California share the same boarder. On the east side is the Gulf of Mexico and on the west is the Pacific Ocean. The Southern boarder of Mexico touches South America. Mexico City is the capital of Mexico, it is located in the center of Mexico. The most common way to travel to Mexico is to take a plane. You can drive to Mexico, but it will take a long time.
Mexico has gentle and warm seasons. It does not rain a lot in Mexico. The climate in Mexico is influenced by the elevation. The temperature does not really get warmer to the south, but the heat and humidity increases as you descend from the Plateau of Mexico to the seacoast. What you will need to pack for your trip to Mexico is short sleeve shirts, shorts, swimsuit, shoes light weight jacket, sun glasses and don’t forget the sun screen!!
When you come to Mexico, I would recommend you visit El Zocolo in Mexico City.
In Spanish it means “base” or “foundation”. It is Mexico City’s main plaza, where The Cathedral of Mexico City and The National Palace is located. It is one of the world’s largest public squares. It sets on the same site of the former Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan.
Next, you must see the Ancient Pyramids. Some of the stones used to build The Cathedral of Mexico City(1500”s) were taken from the Aztec temples.
Diego Rivera is a famous Mexican artist. HIs most famous painting, is an image mural painted on the wall of the the National Palace in Mexico City. Murals are an ancient Mexican tradition. Rivera’s mural shows his interpretation of Mexican history. I think all three places shows Mexico’s history and rich culture.
Mexico City is the third largest city in the world. It is the oldest capital city in the Americas. Some 20 million people live in Mexico City region. Mexico City is the nation’s economic center, with 50% of it’s industry and almost all it’s banks and businesses. It is the center of government. Mexican money is called the peso. Mexico uses the metric system. The official language is Spanish. The flag of Mexico shows the Eagle, snake and cactus- prophetic emblem of the Aztecs. The largest and oldest university is located in Mexico City.
Music and festivals are a central part of life. Mexico’s history and cultures are tasted in its food. The countries diet is mainly a blend of Indian and Spanish traditions.Influences from other countries has resulted in one of the worlds most unique and delicious cuisines.Do you::text like tacos? Maybe you’ll want to try a taco de cabeza(cow head taco) or a lengua taco(tongue taco). If you want something really unusual try a snack called chapulines(fried grasshoppers) a delicacy in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Did you know that.....
Mexico introduced chocolate, corn and chiles to the world. Mexico is the largest salt producer in the world. Mexico has 31 states.
Mexico is located in the “Ring of Fire”, one of the earths most violent earthquake and volcano zones. Mexico City was built on a lake and is sinking 6-8 in. per year. Millions of Monarch butterflies migrate to Mexico from the U.S. and Canada each year. The bullring in Mexico City, the Plaza Mexico is the largest such stadium in the world.
In modern Mexico, all roads lead to Mexico City!!!

There’s no place::text like Hungary!!
Hungary is located in East-Central Europe. Hungary is a small country and has no coastline. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The country is sliced into three sections by the Tisza and Danube Rivers. It’s boarders are Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Ukraine. Budapest is the capital of Hungary. Budapest lies on both sides of the Danube River. Buda on the western side of the river and Pest on the east. I recommend traveling to Hungary by plane or train.
Hungary has a temperate climate, pleasant and mild. The warmest month is July with an average temperature of 72F and the coldest month is January with an average temperature of 32F. If you are planning a trip to Hungary in the summertime, you’ll want to bring t-shirts, shorts, a swimsuit, a light weight jacket and sunglasses. In the winter, pack warmer clothes, long sleeve shirts, pants, a warm coat, gloves, hat and also a swimsuit.
When you visit Hungary, I recommend you take a trip to the capital city, Budapest. I recommend going to The Matthias Church, it is very beautiful and rich in history. The church was nearly destroyed in the war. Next, I recommend visiting The Castle Hill section of Budapest, where the Royal Palace is located. There is a lot to see in this area, such as, The Hungary National Gallery, The Budapest Historic Museum, and The Museum of Recent History.
Finally, I would suggest you go to the Szecheny Thermal Bath in Budapest, for therapeutic bathing and a game of chess. Hungary has over 1300 thermal springs. Budapest is known as the “town of baths”.
Budapest is one of the loveliest of all the European capitals. It is the largest city in Hungary, with nearly 2 million people. It is largest city in East-Central Europe and the 7th largest city in the European Union. Budapest is the economic, political, and cultural center of Hungary. It is a city with two faces. Pest is a much newer and vibrant city and on the opposite side of the river is Buda, an older city, rich in history. Hungary’s official name is “Hungarian Republic”, with a population of over 10 million. Hungarians are Magyars, the descendants of tribes from the east, who arrived in the 9th century. Their language is Hungarian Magyar. Their flag has vertical bands of red, white, and green. Their national symbol is the Cimer, Hungary’s coat-of-arms. Hungary became a member of the European Union in May 2004. Their currency is called the Forint, it is based on the decimal system. They use the metric system. Hungary depends on their industry and international trade. Their main products are textiles, food products, chemicals, metallurgy, machinery and equipment.
Hungarians have created a rich folk art tradition. Pottery and Easter egg decorating are an ancient craft.
Folk music and dancing are important part of Hungarian life. Hungarian wine, Goulash, and Paprika have become symbols of Hungarian cuisine worldwide.
Did you know that......
Hungary is one of the oldest countries in Europe. Some really cool inventions::text like the Rubik’s cube, the ballpoint pen and vitamin C were invented by hungarians. The Hungarian cowboys are called Csikos. A native to Hungary is the Puli, a black sheepdog with dreadlocks.
Come and Explore
Hungary!!!

Barcelona, Spain
When you think of Barcelona, what do you think of? Do you think of the warm weather in the cold months? Or do you think of the cheering fans at Camp Nou? Well, either one’s right. There are so many cool places that people have discovered, and Barcelona is one of them!
Barcelona is located in the northeast coast of the Iberian Peninsula facing the Mediterranean Sea. Barcelona is on the continent of Europe. The best way to get there is by plane. You can take a flight from Detroit to New York and a connecting flight from New York to Barcelona. It takes about 15 hours total.
The weather in Barcelona is really nice in the winter months with a high of 59 degrees F in March. But when summertime comes in, temperatures cool down with a high of 84.2 degrees F in July. Any time of year, I would pack shorts and a t-shirt and a light jacket.
The first site I would visit would be Camp Nou. This fabulous soccer stadium is FC (Football Club) Barcelona’s home stadium. It is so big that it seats 99,786 people.
The second place I would visit would be Las Ramblas. Las Ramblas is Barcelona’s most famous street. You can see street performers and interesting architecture.
The third place I would visit would be Sagrada Familia. This is a giant temple designed by the master architect Antonio Gaudi. Construction started in 1882 and will not be complete for another 30 to 80 years.
Barcelona has a population of 1,621,537. It is the second largest city in Spain. The city is known for hosting the 1992 Summer Olymipcs. Barcelona speaks a mix of languages. One is Spanish and the other is Catalan.
On interesting fact is that Barcelona is known for having some of the worst drivers in the world. In fact, they have many pedestrian walking areas, because it is safer to walk than to drive.
As you can see, there is a lot to discover about Barcelona. You can discover anything from the Old Sagrada, to Camp Nou. There is so much to learn, so visit Barcelona.

I think you should go there because it is another imposing building along the Ringstrasse, it houses one of the world’s finest art collections. Egyptian sculptures as well as paintings from nearly every European art movement are displayed. And finally, I think you should go to the Hofburg Palace. I think you should go there because; it was one the home of the powerful Hansburg family. The palace is a series of buildings constructed over a 700 year span. Within the palace grounds are a half a dozen museums and the decorative stable where the world famous Spanish Riding School gives demonstrations of horsemanship.

"What a great place to go and just chill !" That's what I::text like to say when I think about Budapest, Hungary!
There are the four seasons. Budapest is hot in the summer and not that cold in the winter. You should pack warm cloths in the winter because you don't want to get a cold even though it isn't that cold. For the summer some times it is warm in Budapest but sometimes it is not so warm. So you need to be prepared because you do need to have the right clothes. The time does matter when you go. In spring trough fall is the best time to go because you can go for a long walk to see the beautiful leaves and the weather is perfect to do those things.

Londonis the capital of England. England is located in Northwest of Europe as anisland. The best way to get to London is by traveling with planes.

Winters are generally chilly to cold withfrost usually occurring in the suburbs on average twice a week from November toMarch. Snow usually occurs about four or five times a year mostly from Decemberto February. Winter temperatures seldom fall below −4 °C (24.8 °F) or riseabove 14 °C (57.2 °F).

Welcome to Venice, Italy! I got my information from books that talk about Venice and from Delta.com.
Venice is located in Europe in the Northeast area of Italy. The Adriatic Sea is east of Venice. This city is referred to as an island city since it is surrounded by water. The roads in Venice are really canals, which are waterways that you can travel through by boat. If traveling from Michigan, the most common way to get there is flying. You can fly from Detroit to Venice and you will most likely have a connecting flight. For example at Delta.com, I looked at flights that connected in New York. The prices of your flight will probably be around $2,000 dollars!
The weather in Venice varies by season. It is hot in the summer and more mild in the winter. It is usually in the 70s and 80s in the summer, however in the winter it is in the 30s and 40s. If you go in the spring, for example April, you can expect mild winter weather. In addition, it gets rainy and there could be flooding in months::text like March and November. The most popular months for tourists to go are May, June, September, and October.
Anywhere you decide to visit in Venice you can walk, take a gondola, or a watertaxi. The city itself is small, and it says that you can walk across the whole city in one hour. Markets, museums, restaurants with mouthwatering Italian food, music…these are things you will find in Venice! Some famous places to visit in the city are the San Marco District and the Santa Croce District. San Marco District is surrounded by historic buildings and sights. St. Mark’s Square is in this district and it has landmarks::text like St. Mark’s Basilca, the Correr Museum, and the Doge’s Palace. During the day this amazing place is perfect for tourists and walking around. At night, it is great for adults to have a romantic dinner and enjoy listening to music. The Santa Croce District is another place to see, and you can take a gondola ride (this is a small boat) under the great Rialto Bridge which is one of the most famous bridges in the world! It crosses the Grand Canal, which is the main canal the goes through the whole city.
From a gondola ride on the Grand Canal to delicious Italian foods::text like spaghetti, visiting Venice, Italy will be an experience to remember!
