This is an easy-moderate 5.8-mile gem of a hike with several short steep hills. Prepare for some serious nature including enough birds to qualify as a sanctuary. I spied the most beautiful Blue Heron in flight I have ever seen. I was above this beauty looking down as it glided out of the creek, unbelievable. Blue Jays, Woodpeckers and grouse are everywhere. This area was populated with California Native Americans who lived by Secret and Miners Ravine Creek for centuries. http://www.rocklinhistory.org/written_history/written_roy-1974.asp
