Keeley's EDCMOOC Personal Learning Network

Leer descripción ↓↓ Ver el mapa

One of my goals when I started this MOOC was to enhance my personal learning network, to be vigilant about not existing in an echo chamber online. In just a few weeks I connected with some interesting people and found some new tools. I look forward to more knowledge sharing after the course ends! This map is part of my final digital artifact which you can view here: http://prezi.com/phbr4dwsi39x/edcmooc-a-maiden-voyage/

2: @JeffMerrell

Jeff Merrell, my colleague in the MSLOC Program at Northwestern University, invited me to participate in the #edcmooc. We connected almost every morning to share what we were learning. Jeff has been an anchor for me throughout this course and since I started my MSLOC learning journey in 2009.

I found a kindred spirit in Felicia Sullivan. Not only is she currently working at my alma mater, Tufts University, but her blog and various EDCMOOC activities, such as the Google Form collaborative brainstorming activity and subsequent #edcmooc VoiceThread, were instrumental in keeping me engaged during this course.

Felicia Sullivan (http://www.feliciasullivan.net) has been a kindred spirit during this course. Not only did she blog about topics that interest me, but she also created a collaborative brainstorming activity and a VoiceThread asynchronous discussion that were instrumental in increasing my engagement and learning.

Amy Burvall's #edcmooc digital viking post is one of my favorites (https://amysmooc.wordpress.com/2013/02/01/why-we-need-digital-vikings-edcmooc/). I want to spend some more time reading / watching her work. She is creative and witty. Plus her blog is strikingly beautiful.

13: @danishbuddha - Tech Hippie

Asbjørn Skovsende from Denmark (my favorite country!) looks::text like a digital viking (see @amyburvall). He created fabulous social network analyses of the #edcmchat Twitter chats (http://hawksey.info/tagsexplorer/?key=0AlRH7JoVHnnLdENXbVdNc2xyMXNQcHNsbFBaRnNHWVE&sheet=oaw). He reminds me of the techies I used to work with at Endeavor Information Systems. He'd be one of the first people I'd call if I needed help with something technical or just wanted to drink a Tuborg beer and ponder what it means to be a tech hippie. Skol!

Favorite @danishbuddha tweet: Feb. 9
Q1: the geek in me loves it and the hippy in me fear it #edcmchat

VoiceThread (@voicethread) was an important part of my #edcmooc journey. I have started a conversation with faculty members in the MSLOC program about ways to use this within our learning community.

A friend of mine from Tufts University, @adamtr, is a founder of Haiku Deck, an ipad app I used during the EDCMOOC to tell the story of metaphors about EDCMOOC that were shared during the second #edcmchat Twitter chat. Love this simple way to tell stories.

31: ThingLink - New Tool

My MSLOC colleague @julietteswett tweeted about ThingLink during Week 1 of #edcmooc. One of my learning goals for this course was to discover and use some new tools, so I created my first edcmooc digital artifact using ThingLink.

32: NewHive - New Tool

NewHive - http://newhive.com/ I came across this tool early on in a tweet from a fellow student. I enjoyed searching their gallery and found a few images that align with the #edcmooc topics.

Designing for life: https://newhive.com/abram/designing-for-life - resonates with #edcmooc themes about tech & being human / interacting w/nature

Learning: https://newhive.com/mariathereza/learning / Love this: "We are eternal children teaching adults to be children."

Technology: https://newhive.com/thenewhive/-technology-flavor-of-the-week

From NewHive website:
We are an unconventional Seattle startup, now based in San Francisco. We are on a mission to raise the bar for creative expression online while lowering the barrier to entry. One thing each of us has in common is a strong conviction that the power of expression + technology will lead to more innovation + freedom, + that is exactly what the world needs right now.
