We had a nice afternoon paddle in the bay and up Old House Creek. There was plenty of wildlife to view and we even caught site of a pair of bald eagles. You have to time your paddle and direction based on the tide. The tide was coming in when we set out and was not going to peek until around 4:00 so we paddled against the tide out and let it push us back. When the tide goes out it can move rather quickly. You have been warned. There use to be a fee for kayak put in and we had a season pass but starting last year they only charge a fee if you have a boat trailer. One of the few totally free kayak put ins around the Washington area. There and Riley's Lock which is a nice paddle on the Potomac well above Great Falls.
