I grew up here in little 8,000 population Placerville. I left when I was 17.

I spent 2.5 lovely years here in SB, double majoring in Law & Society and Sociology (and obviously in laying out and beach volleyball!).

2: Semester at Sea Fall (August - December) '03

Ok, it totally deserves its own pin! While I was in college, I went on Semester at Sea (F'03 - oh yeah!) and circumnavigated the globe:
Left from Vancouver, Canada
-->Kobe, Japan
-->Hong Kong (China - SAR)
-->Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
-->Bangkok, Thailand
-->Chennai, India
-->Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
-->Cape Town, South Africa
-->Salvador, Brazil
-->Havana, Cuba (where Fidel gave us a sweet speech...for 4.5 hours!)
and then back to Florida!
It was the most influential trip of my life!

3: Galway, Ireland, August - Dec, 2004

I picked up and moved to Ireland with a 4-month student work permit, and $400 to my name. I bartended in an old castle-turned-hotel, waitressed, worked in a store - and traveled!

4: London, U.K., January - June, 2005

I then lived and worked in London, primarily at law offices and government departments.  In 6 months, I had 11 jobs!  Ah, the life of a temp worker!

5: Washington, DC, August 2005 - June, 2006

Post-London, I traveled until I ran out of money. I came back to the U.S. and worked in a lovely law firm named Brunenkant & Cross, LLP, here in DC.

6: Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, July - December, 2006

Aching to travel, I picked up and moved to Hawaii, where I worked in the restaurants, hostessing and waitressing, rode my baby blue moped around, and lazed on the beach. It was wonderful, but I soon missed intellectual stimulation!

7: Wellington, New Zealand, February - September, 2007

After Hawaii, I headed to New Zealand, where I lived in a van for a month, traveling the South Island. Out of money, I then lived in Wellington for 6 months, where I worked many government jobs, including for then Prime Minister Helen Clark.

8: Cambridge, MA, February 2008 - December, 2009

Post-NZ, I traveled through Asia, spent a month or so home on the West Coast, and then made my way to Cambridge, MA. I attended Lesley University from 2008-2010, earning a M.A. in Intercultural Relations. While in Cambridge, I held a few office jobs including an Executive Assistant position at a law firm (CTI, LLP), Special & Administrative Projects Manager at Lesley University, and I volunteered at the non-profit International Center for Conciliation.

10: Portland, OR, June 2010 - December, 2010

After Berlin, I traveled a bit through Sweden and Peru, and then slowly made my way back west to live near my family. I held an amazing position working as a Program Coordinator for Azumano International, where I managed the international exchange of 8 Japanese University students.

11: New York, NY January 2011 - November, 2012

In NYC, I was thriving on the energy of the city; involved and engaged with international affairs and development. I worked varying contract positions during the day, ranging from government to sports and finance, and at nights and on the weekends was engaged with the United Nations and its respective affiliations. I relished in the numerous restaurants in the city, and, being a night owl, the nightlife catered nicely to my sleeping schedule! I also managed to play quite a bit of beach volleyball in Central Park, one of my favorite places in the world!
