Fossil Lake Ram-Rai

Interesting segment on track plain to the North of the eocenic hill of Buja. The wide plan known as "Fields of Osoppo" is the post glacial lake or wetland area and it was fueled by the flooding of the close Tagliamento. Now the Highway A23(leads from Udine to Villach) is secant the whole area; the Highway is a material barrier to the continuity of large flat terrain, especially for exchange of fauna and earthy as well permanent avifauna (the sound vertical wall prevent the fligh-crossing). The warp field lags postwar land reclaim with rows and the few remains significant. The Ledra (natural river) with permanent water favored by the contribution of the artificial Tagliamento water ( a parallel channel) , creates a unique habitat in the woods gallery. Specs = fisherman-trail on Ledra riverside, driveway and dirtway; short junction with asfalt. Fall, winter, spring time suggested in windy and sunny day.
