Ngorongoro Crater is a large unbroken volcanic caldera. The crater was formed after a giant volcano at that place exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago the Crater floor is is 2,000 ft deep and covers covers 260 km2, Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet high. A good place to see Black Rhinoceros and serval. the crater encompasses an alkaline lake Magadi which attracts lots of Flamingos.
