What do you think a day was::text like at this mission? I think that the Indians would grow the crops and everybody would help feed the animals.
Other Interesting Facts: In 1818 a sub Mission was founded 60 miles east from San Diego. The Mission was originally located on Presidio Hill.

What do you think a day was::text like at this mission? I think it was bad for the Indians, women, and the men. They worked so hard working for their kids and family members. The men had to hunt with Indians. It probably killed some people.
Other Interesting Facts: San Juan Capistrano was found twice. The mission had four bells that survived a big earthquake and still stay on the mission church. My mission had a song dedicated to it when it was under construction.

What year was the highest population and how many lived at the mission that year? 1802-1821. There were 1,328 people living at the mission.
What and how many animals were at the mission? 41,000 animals including 4,493 horses, 23,400 cattle, 12,144 sheep.
What crops were grown at the mission? Wheat, barley, corn, beans, peas, lentils, and garbanzos.
What do you think a day was::text like at this mission? It was hard for the Native Americans and the Fathers because they didn’t have enough food for the people at the mission and sometimes it took months to deliver food and the mission people went hungry.
Other Interesting Facts: There was a pirate attack in 1818. Mission San Buenaventura is the only mission to have wooden bells.

What do you think a day was::text like at this mission? It would be hard and I would have to do a lot of chores like, washing the clothes , making food for the other Indians and I would have to do all those things all day every day.
Other Interesting Facts: My mission had a terrible earthquake and it knocked down most of the mission. The Indians that lived there had to rebuild it and it took several years to rebuild. My mission is also called, The Mission by the Sea.

Who or what was the mission named for? It was namedfor Saint Barbara, a legendary martyred church figure of the 3rd century.

What is this mission used for today? It is used forlots of things::text like showing tourist about its history and what life was theirlike and its used for::text like a display of items in it.

Which tribe(s) of Native Americans lived at this mission?The tribe that lives in the Santa Barbara Mission is the Chumash.

What year was the highest population and how manylived at the mission that year? The year was 1803 and the population was 1,792.

What and how many animals were at the mission? Theanimals that lived there was 3,500 cattle and there was 9,000 sheep.

What crops were grown at the mission? The crops thathave grown there was barley, beans and peas.

What do you think a day was::text like at this mission? Ithink it would be hard living there because it would be hard getting food theweather there and::text like the earthquakes that happen.

Other Interesting Facts: I think it was cool that ifsomeone died there was a cemetery for them. What I didn’t know that there wastwo wooden bells.

What year was the highest population and how many lived at the mission that year? 996, in 1832
What and how many animals were at the mission? 5,063 animals 3,500 cattle and 900 horses
What crops were grown at the mission? They had a big vineyard. They had about 14,000 crops. They had Bushels, of grain and produces.
What do you think a day was::text like at this mission? I think it was had for Indians and for children. It was not easy for adults either. I think the crops were the hardest thing on a sunny day. Some of the cattle mite of died.
Other Interesting Facts: They had the big bear revolt June 14, 1846. They secularized in 1834. The bells were casted in 1929. The church is now Historic Landmark League. The church is 105 ft. long and 22 ft. wide.
