22 AUG 2012 18:00 I detoured from highway off Sungai Petani as traffic was very heavy due to the Balik Kampung and ended up in BM. Wanted to climb/hike long ago but never materialised at all. Today, without any plan, I managed to hiked up to the top of the hill. Rained half way luckily I broght umbrella for the first time in the history of hiking! Started the journey at 4:30am from the Titiwangsa Hotel. Parked the car at Mardi and hiked up from Jungle Walk NO.5 at 5:07am alone. Reached the Peak in 1:02 and walked down via No.8. Aided by the Ultrafire torch light and Oregon 400T, hiking alone in the dark was quite fun. Came across one wild cat but too fast for me to captured on the camera....ver el mapa.
Solo Trail Run in Cameron Highlands Starting Point: Titiwangsa Hotel Brinchang I ran towards Golf course and turned in at the Jungle Walk No.3 60% of the trail was well marked but there were a few junctions without any directions, so one has to be careful. Actual run/hike time for this route was 1:32:38 This was my unplanned run/hike and a bit crazy cos I started the run at 1:08pm(hot afternoon sun was shinning so bright!) The trail was well trodden till Station 7 Bukit Kukus. Here huge&tall bamboos completely covered the hill top, and wild boars' foot prints were clearly visible, not many hikers uses this trail. This trail is mainly used by the orchard farmers and suitable for walking, hiking, running, mountain biking & etc., One will find the hidden beauty of Penang Island sandy beaches called Pasir Pajang at the beginning of the trail. This is Trail No.1 of Cameron Highlands. Started the hike from Brinchang Night market junction and entered into the Trail 1 which leads all the way up to Gunung Brinchang where the telekom station is located. It was a real hardcore hike because starting time was 1pm. It was shady, cool and nice right up to Hilton Hut and Ironcross. Met Ah Leong at Ironcross. Lunch was clay pot rice brought up from Lai Lai Cafe and taken at the Ironcross! From this point all the way down to Titi Kerawang was really hot like hell....ver el mapa.
I did this route with Eddy. We started from the Boon Siew Permai Hillside residence. There was no clear trail at all for about 800 metres and we just simply followed the ridges until we found the Mount Erskine Mountain Bike trail. We followed that route all the way up to Old Craig Hotel Penang Hills and returned from the jeep track down. Nice scenery but some path towards Crai......ver el mapa.

Chinese New Year Hill Run! Malaysian Ultra running legend Seow Kong Ng and Comrade Ultra SA finisher Chen Chee Kong both joined the run. Started form the Penang Hill Air Itam roundbaout and run up all the way to 1200 steps temple. From there, we took a short cut to Hilton Hut and Iron Cross. I left the group at Iron Cross. Eddy & Andrew joined me for the run. This is quite a tough route for the average runners. It was quite grueling considering the Distance 31Km+ and altitude gain 1,100m+. You will pass Famous landmarks of Penang such as Kek Lok Si Temple, 1200 Temple, Air Itam Dam and Penang Hills top and Botanic Garden.
