8: Histortic Mosque of Bangladesh

This ancient city, formerly known as Khalifatabad, was founded by the Turkish general Ulugh Khan Jahan in the 15th century.
It is in the suburbs of Bagherat. Today this old city, created within a few years and swallowed up by the jungle after the death of its founder in 1459, is striking because of certain uncommon features.

9: Ruins of the Buddhist Vihara at Pahrapur

Paharpur is a small village 5 km west of Jamalganj in the Greater Rajshahi District. The Paharpur Vihara, known as Somapura Mahavira, was built by the Pala Emperor Dharmapala (AD 770-810). With its simple, harmonious lines and its profusion of carved decoration, it influenced Buddhist architecture as far away as Cambodia.

Siddhartha Gautama, the Lord Buddha, was born in 623 B.C. in the gardens of Lumbini. The site is now being developed as a Buddhist pilgrimage centre. Lumbini is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas in modern Nepal.

This park is located at the foot of the Himalayas. Chitwan is one of the few remaining vestiges of the Terai region. It has a rich flora and fauna.

This forest is located in south-west Sri Lanka.  This is the country's last primary rain forest. More than 60% of the trees are rare and endemic.

This is an area with dramatic mountains. glaciers and deep valleys. Rare species such as the snow leopard are found in this park. The presence of Sherpas adds further interest

20: Keoladeo National Park

This is the former duck-hunting reserve of the Maharajas. 364 species of birds, including the rare Siberian crane, have been recorded in the park. A major wintering area as well.
