A glacier trip in January should probably be started a bit earlier - as it worked out we started our approach march at 12:30 or so, made it to the top of the plateau (where we could start skiing) by 14:00 and reached th highest point (you can't really talk of a "summit" on these iceacaps) at around 16:40 - by which time the sun was setting .... The trip back demonstrated that it's very hard to ski downhill when you can't see the skis in front of you, let alone the terrain. A rather foolhardy exercise, really. For pictures click the title.
