0: Kom Jug Yuen Restaurant
(affectionately known as Cum Jug). They have a sign out front that says "best BBQ pork in North America", and they're probably right.
BBQ pork on steamed rice is a filling lunch and costs less than $4.50 after tax.
Más sobre Kom Jug Yuen Restaurant1: Squareboys
Their gyros dinner is the best gyros I've had in the city, with a huge greek salad and a side of fresh, crispy fries. Extra points if you get feta cheese and lemon sauce on the fries for only 50 cents. Costs under $10 with a dirnk and it will ALWAYS satisfy.
Más sobre Squareboys2: Buddha's Vegetarian
I usually get by spending around $14 for three huge platters, feeding 2-3 people and have leftovers.
Más sobre Buddha's Vegetarian3: Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu
Their menu may be small, but they do those few dishes justice. Quality over quantity, if you will. And the prices are great.
Más sobre Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu4: Pho Hung
***Owned by a redditor and his family!
Big bowl of Pho for about 7 bucks. Totally amazing and best I've had in the city. Also: best spring rolls (#62 on the menu) and surprisingly best Chicken Wings in the city as well (#60 on the menu).
Más sobre Pho Hung5: Mars Food
Old style lunch counter; been there for 60 years. The cook has been there for almost 40. I love old style greasy spoons.
Más sobre Mars Food7: Vesta Lunch
Cheap, but dirty.
They cut everything on the same cutting board, be it raw chicken, or tomatoes for a salad, so don't order anything that doesn't get cooked.
One time I ordered a water, and the guy who was handling raw chicken didn't even wipe his hands. My cup clearly had chicken juice all over it. Gross.
Más sobre Vesta Lunch9: Sunrise House
it's smaller, not as busy, extremely friendly staff, cheaper than most and has a nice homey atmosphere.
Más sobre Sunrise House10: The Black Camel
across the street from the Rosedale subway station, makes the best sandwiches without a doubt. The line is regularly out the door and wrapping around the corner. My regular order is the Slow Roasted Beef Brisket, with their homemade BBQ sauce, chipotle mayo, caramelized onions and roasted red peppers. They also do Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, Seared Steak (Cold), and Vegetarian.
Más sobre The Black Camel11: Gale's Snack Bar
Burger, healthy portion of fries and a drink for less than 4 bucks. It's like a greasy spoon diner, and when you walk in, it's like you've entered the 50s.
Más sobre Gale's Snack Bar12: Krishna's
Krishna's, a small family joint, south south asian (Tamil? Sri Lankan?), East side of parliament, south of wellesley. Just north of the gas station. Little hole in the wall joint.
Standard south south asian faire, pretty cheap and really tasty. I'm in there weekly it seems for idlys, dals, rotis, curries, etc.
I love the smell of that place when I walk in.
Más sobre Krishna's13: T Bones
Cheapest and biggest steaks with large portions... and its 24 hrs
Don't forget their 8 oz sirloin home burger with fries for 5 dollars at any hour of the day (or night).

If you hit this place up before 11AM on a week day everything on the Dim Sum menu is $1.80. For $18 you can get 10 dishes, it's practically All You Can Eat dim sum.

Más sobre Simon Sushi27: Tropical Joe's
It's about 6.50 for a large Jamaican roti and it's fucking enormous (and delicious). The chickpea roti's my favourite. The other day I got a large curry with rice & peas, ate as much as I possibly could for lunch, and still had enough left over to share with my husband for supper. Seriously, that was 3 meals' worth of curry for under $7.

Some of the best middle-eastern food ever and Elias, the owner/chef, is one of the most eccentric people in the entire world. I usually drop by for coffee and some banana bread and he's always there, ready to tell more stories.

If you're looking for cheap drinks I'd recommend Pour Girl, a bar on college just east of St. George - food's great and relatively cheap (~$7 pound of wings/penne/etc.) but the drinks are what get me - $6.25 for double shot mixed drinks (long island iced T, mojito...oh man)
