1: Cotteridge Wines

1825 Pershore Rd, King's Norton, Birmingham, West Midlands B30 3DN, UK

Has gained a big reputation for a big range of beers.  Just up the road from SWS and purported to stock a range of UK, US and Euro bottles, including over 150 German varieties. Could be the main challenger to SWS in the city.

6: Istanbul Supermarket

Situated on Smethwick High St, 2 mins from the Red Cow, this international food store is quite good on East European and former Soviet lagers, including several Baltikas, some Latvians and 2-litre bottles of Svyturys Svyturio and Gintarinis. Worth visiting.

7: Drinksville

I used to visit here when I lived locally - they seemed to have some interesting/odd beers which would pop up from time to time. Nowadays "has a reasonable range of real ales, and probably lagers too".

Más sobre Drinksville

8: Drinks World

Always seems to have a bizarre range of lagers and oddments, stacked cheek by jowl with a fair range of real ales. "Interesting selection if you're new-ish to beers (not often something different found for a jaded beer-seeker like me though ;-)".

9: Rai Wine Shop

A widish range of Belgians, with a smattering of German and US and quite a few real ales also.

17: Polish shop

Sorry, can't remember the name of this second Polsky Sklep, which is almost opposite Nowy Polka. This one has a range of familiar Polish lagers, but sells ones such as Debowe Mocne in 4-packs, which is interesting.

18: Sklep

Can't remember the name of this place, which is almost next to Venus 2. This one has a baklava counter and a smattering of really obscure East Euro lagers. Worth checking out (I will get the name).
