13: Ashura Festival Notice

Ashura is a major religious festival celebrated by many across Bahrain. As a part of Ashura religious observations, processions and religious events will take place throughout Bahrain between November 14th and November 30th. Although these processions and events are expected to be purely religious and peaceful, some processions might turn anti-government which may involve clashes with the police. If this occurs, appropriate measures should be taken to avoid these areas. Clashes between protesters and police often result in adverse driving conditions, an increased police presence, and significant delays. Red zone travel remains prohibited.

Please use caution as you drive and plan for additional time to arrive at your destination. Always keep current with media coverage of local events and be aware of your surroundings. If you encounter a large public gathering or demonstration, depart the vicinity immediately and notify TMU at 3940-4271.
