2: Cafe Montmarte

"Cafe Montmartre is created from the former cafe Chez Tonie this was a so-called animeerzaak which was founded in 1964.

In 1982 it was taken over by a businessman who think it looked in and changed the name Le cafe de Paris Montmartre in the vernacular still Montmartre cafe.
This was on May 8, 1996 again taken over by Hugo Braakhuis. He has the scepter wielded until early December 2007 and not without success.

Cafe Montmartre has become a household name in the Amsterdam and the Dutch gay scene and is actually not hard to imagine.

Since 10 December 2007 Cafe Montmartre taken over by Demian Cortie. Demian is a fresh wind through the caf'e gone, without affecting the old atmosphere.
Thus the toilets rebuilt, and behind the bar are a number of changes to the requirements of this time to comply.
Our motto remains "Always but always cozy" and we will complete our team do everything to continue.

Finally, if you have something to celebrate? Our café can be hired for parties. Send an e-mail and contact us.

Hope to see you .......... Demian Cortie and Team"

"The Cuckoo's Nest is a gay men's bar right in the center of Amsterdam. It started life in 1984 as a leather bar and now has quite a mixed patronage, albeit still quite fetish oriented.

Below some pictures of the interior of the bar that hopefully will give you an impression of the atmosphere of the bar. There are no people in the pictures, but we hope you will get an idea anyway."
