WCRVBB-19-Biking Low Danube - STAGE 09 - Ruse-Silistra 123 km

Etapa 9 de la Ruta que discurre por el bajo Danubio de Belgrado a Constanta, durante 1017 km hasta el Mar Negro en 10 etapas. Va de Ruse a Silistra. Esta etapa discurre íntregramente en Bulgaria (la única de todas). Salimos de Ruse deshaciendo camino hasta el puente que viene de Giurgiu, y continuamos la carretera principal que va paralela a Danubio. La carretera es ancha y buena pero no excesivo tráfico. Los pueblos y coches se ven bastante modernos. En Tutrakan, vamos junto al río, con unas buenas imágenes desde un mirador cerca del agua. Entonces subimos y volvemos al interior, con la carretera principal, que se vuelve a acercar al río en la Reserva Natural Srebarna. No nos acercamos pero se puede ir a dar una vuelta a un mirador de aves. Finalmente llegamos a Silistra.

STAGE DESCRIPTION
 On the ninth stage, from Ruse to Silistra, we ride the unique stage entirely in Bulgaria. We return to the bridge of Giurgiu and then we follow the main road parallel to the river. The road is good and not many traffic, but a little. We turn to Tutrakan, on the river. There is a beautifull terrace with excellents views to the river. We return to the main road and follow the river but at many kilometers of distance. Then we reach the Srebarna Natural Reserve, with some lakes and many birds. There is the possibility to take a path to a birdwatching tower. The way finally arrives after many kilometers to Silistra. A long stage but with few difficulties (basically depends on the direction of the wind).

DESTINATION POINT
 Silistra, a big city next to the frontier with Romania. There is a pedestrian center and a park near the river. Many restaurants in the center and Hotel Silistra (via booking.com) can be a good option for staying at night.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
There is the possbility to take a path in the dam and local roads after Tutrakan. But this means 8 kilometers plus, and the stage is very large. All depends on your strength.
