STAGE DESCRIPTION
This is the second stage, going from Smederevo to Veliko Gradiste. Leaving Smederevo, we go back to the Dunav and cross the river. Then right, we reach Kovin, very pleasant city. Then we return to the river, following up de dam, with more marshes and birds. You can see some beaches, and grups of houses in the forest next to the river. Very pleasant. In Duvovac we leave the river to pass the Delibato sands. It's a huge forest over the sands of the river. When we reach the DTD Kanal, we turn right to follow the dam. It's all grass, but interesting to reach Stara Palanka where there is a little ferry station to cross the river. In the restaurant next to the ferry, you can tast a delicious soup. Once in the ferry, you cross to Ram, with excellent views of the river and the fortress of Ram. In land, you take a steep climb to take a road to Zatonje. And then you cross silver lake (an old arm of the river converted with dams in a lake) and follow beside the river to reach Veliko Gradiste, the end of the stage.
