5: Machhindranath Rath Jaatra Route

Chariot is circled around the old city of Patan in this route for 11 consecutive year. On the 12th year the jaatra starts from Bungamati, takes the same route in Patan and then it is brought back to Bungamati

Ratha pulling will resume on June 21 (Asar 7).

The pulling of the chariot resumes on June 25 (Asar 11).

Will resume the festival on a auspicious day that will be decided by astrologers .. will head for final destination - Jawalakhel

10: May 2 - Lagankhel - 3rd Station

Matsyendranath makes two circle around a tree at Lagankhel - the symbol of mother of the rain god, then pulled about 100meters northward.

 
Coconuts will be dropped from the top of the chariot.  It is believed that the lucky one who catches the coconut shall be blessed with a son.

 
Chariot will be pulled by ladies only on May 4, early in morning.  (the only event that only females participate)

The rain god will dwell in this temple half of the year during its stay in Patan (except) during the chariot festival.

For another half year, it will be kept in Machhindra bahal in Bungamati.
