An easy walk from Mangwolsa Station to Mangwolsa Temple, where the buddhists serve hikers with free noodle soup. Beware that it is extremely rude if you don't finish eating everything that has been offered. The hike to the peak of Dobongsan can be hectic with hikers having to line up and can be difficult to novice hikers as it requires scrambling up and down granite knolls. At the peak, you have to fight your way to find a vantage point as the realestate up there is in high demand. If a foreigner shakes a makgulri bottle and decides to open it, there is no place to run and take cover from the explosion. As this is a hike up a mountain in a densely metropolitan city, don't expect prestine views of green valleys and rivers and distant mountain ranges. The views from this mountain peak is unique in that it offers views of a former valley that has now been concreted over with a flood of apartments, highways and sky scrapers.
