Cullaby & slough

This is a nice place to paddle when you don't want to worry about tides.I put in at the southern event shelter because my destination was the slough that flows off the very south end of the lake. The weather was warm with a cool wind, but once in the slough, the wind was no longer an issue. The water is murky and brown and you can't see deeper that an inch or so, which only added to the other-worldliness. So calm and peaceful! Salamanders appear out of the murkyness all over the place. Once you leave the trees, you pass a couple horse pastures, and a little further on are ducks. I Turned around at the small bridge.
