C&O Day 2

Day 2 of 5 day trip with children on C&O Bike trail from Cumberland, Maryland to DC. Stayed overnight at a B&B called the Buck Valley Ranch that picked us up at the end of the trail and dropped us back off the that morning to start the ride. Stayed that night in C&O Canal Trust's Lockhouse 49 which, despite no indoor plumbing, was a delightful place right on the trail. We rode part of the day on the Western Maryland Rail Trail, which parallels the C&O on this section and has a paved surface. Be sure to get back on the C&O at the right spot, as there is no connection at the end of the WMRT! Trail grade is very easy, though occasionally the trail was muddy and buggy.
