var55_Paragraph1_Text: Before war came, Honorata was a director of a technical institute for girls. All that changed when she was abducted and held captive for a year by soldiers who took turns raping her. She escaped win the chaos of an attack on the camp by another militia and was reunited with her family. After participating in classes on women's roles and the importance of becoming an active citizen, she stood up in front of political and community leaders on International Women's Day and called for official accountability for the suffering of Congolese women. "Having someone recognize my humanity again has dared me to hope."
