Tyler Gumm, 7. The bodies of Tyler Gumm and his sister, Kylie Gumm, 6, were found May 29 at Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve, along with that of their father, James Gumm, 45, all of Hillsboro. Police said James Gumm was unemployed and under stress when he shot and killed his two adopted children with a 9 mm handgun and then shot himself. A hiker found the bodies about 1 p.m. along the Otter Marsh Loop trail about a mile from the closest parking area. Neighbors said they heard shots about 11 a.m. Gumm had no criminal record. Oregon court records show Gumm and his wife filed for divorce twice, in 1992 and again in December 2007. Gumm and his ex-wife had a custody agreement, and he shot the children during his time with them. There is no record of intervention by the Department of Human Services for abuse or neglect of the children.
