Olivian Iris Nicole Goodrich (5/30/2003) - Washington County homicides 2000-2012 (sitios de interés)

Descripción del sitio

Olivian Iris Nicole Goodrich, 3 months. Died May 30 in her family's Beavercreek Apartments home in the 12200 block of Southwest Center Street in Beaverton. Because she had been born with cytomegalovirus, which caused seizures, breathing problems and delayed development, no autopsy was performed, and the body was cremated. The baby's father, Darren Scott Goodrich, 40, was arrested July 9 on domestic assault charges in Salem, where the family had moved. Authorities say the man told police he held Olivian's nose and mouth closed for two minutes until she stopped breathing because he had trouble dealing with her medical condition. A Beaverton police investigator says neurologists told him the infant was a high risk to develop pneumonia, feeding disorders and respiratory problems but "was not expected to imminently die." Goodrich was sentenced to 10 years in prison for manslaughter. At his sentencing, Goodrich said he did the right thing by putting his 3-month-old terminally ill daughter out of her misery.
