Nyla Jean Coghill, 65. Shot and killed by her husband Wayne Eugene Coghill, 67, inside their Hillsboro apartment in the 300 block of Northeast Autumn Rose Way on July 23. Wayne Coghill then fatally shot himself. Nyla Coghill suffered from strokes, police said. The couple's daughter had called 9-1-1, after Wayne Coghill had called her and said he had "already taken care of (Nyla Coghill)," and he was going to "take care of himself," according to police reports. Investigators say they classify the incident as more of a mercy killing than a domestic violence situation. The couple co-owned and operated Alstate Siding and Supply Co.
