(Unsolved)Mario Alberto Gonzalez Murillo, 25. The Southeast Portland man died of a stab wound to the chest July 29 on Southeast 10th Avenue in Hillsboro. Gonzalez, his girlfriend and another couple were walking toward a restaurant when he exchanged words with a group of men in what police said was a gang-related brawl that escalated into a knife fight. Jose Francisco Chavez, 20, of Aloha and Nicasio Nieves Gonzalez, 21, of Hillsboro were arrested on accusations of unlawful use of a weapon but were not charged and were released from Washington County Jail. Nieves was later convicted of a nonfatal stabbing in October that was gang-related and sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison. The Gonzalez killing remains under investigation.
