Gonzalo Pizano Guzman, 20. His body -- beaten, shot and stabbed -- was found in a ditch near Henry Hagg Lake southwest of Forest Grove on July 7, hours after his parents found his burned-out car south of Cornelius. He never returned to his parents' Cornelius home July 6 after leaving his girlfriend's Cornelius home at 9:15 p.m. Detectives arrested Joseph David Noble, 24, of Hillsboro and Rafael "Junior" Mora Contreras, 19, of Cornelius. Mora, who was accused of planning the murder of Pizano to stop the Cornelius man from marrying his sister in September 2000, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Noble, accused of carrying out the murder for money or drugs, was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
