Koh Samet with it's beautiful white sand beaches is a popular holiday destination. Prices are a little more expensive than on the mainland but it's worth a visit for a few days.The island is a National Park area, so there's a National Park fee to pay to visit the island. Passenger ferries run from the town of Ban Phe just across the water. Scooters with knobbly tires can be hired on the island to cope with some of the dirt track like roads which you will have to ride along if you wish to explore the island by road/track. Otherwise, you can circumnavigate the island by boat, stopping in at the various beaches along the way.
