June 21, 10:10 p.m. Two men were shot while driving on the 4500 block of West Jackson Boulevard. The driver was shot in the back and his passenger suffered a gunshot to the shoulder.
The driver of the car, identified as Fredrene Brown, 23, drove away from the scene and subsequently lost control of the car, crashing on the 4500 block of West Chicago Avenue.
Brown, of 1004 N. Springfield Ave., was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 11:23 p.m.
His passenger was reportedly in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
