August 29, 3:22 p.m. One man was fatally shot and another suffered a gunshot wound to the chest Friday afternoon in the North Side's Uptown neighborhood.
Two men in their 20s were standing on the sidewalk in the 4800 block of North Sheridan Road when an unknown person approached them and fired multiple shots, according to police News Affairs.
Timothy Pittman was pronounced dead at the scene at 6 p.m., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner’s office spokeswoman. The other victim was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, according to Fire Media Affairs Asst. Director Eve Rodriguez.
