uirino Grandstand is where the newly elected president of the Philippines takes his or her oath. Named after the former president Elpidio Quirino, it has also been venues for huge political, religious, cultural, and social events (examples are the grand Philippine Centennial celebration in 1998 and World Youth Day in 1995).
