A sandy mound with red-brick structures of Late Roman - Coptic age. Many coins said to have been found. North part of site cut by development of New Damietta, but remainder protected. Cultivation and fish-farms encroaching from the south and west. Roman limestone coffins found in the sandy environs of the site. Highest part at south, with low-lying areas to three sides, especially at the north, where there are standing pools of salt water. Late Roman sherds and glass.
