| Link Sakamoto Castle was a flatland style Japanese Castle located on the shoreline of Lake Biwa in Sakamoto Shiga Prefecture. Sakamoto Castle was the home base for Akechi Mitsuhide, an aid to Nobunaga, who had his primary castle, Azuchi Castle, located on the other side of Lake Biwa. Today little remains of Sakamoto Castle, where only the stone foundations of the honmaru (inner bailey) can be seen. |
