A cemetery named after the Sufi teacher, philosopher and mystic, Abu Hamid al-Ghazali, or simply Algazel, as he would become known in the west. Al-Ghazali was an influential figure in Baghdad, and the rest of the Muslim world. In 484/1091, Ghazali was appointed head of the Nizamiyyah College in Baghdad (Al-Ghazali).
