Trabzon, Aghia Sophia, 1240 The former Greek cathedral is now a museum. Its frescoes dating from 1250 have recently been restored by a British foundation. The murals are, nevertheless, in poor condition. They are an outstanding example of the last century of Byzantine painting before the demise of the Kingdom of Trabzond
