Postings of over a hundred illegally placed signs  mainly at night at intersections- in the grass and on poles.

 

As everyone has personally wittnessed, there has seems to have been a plague of commercial corner signs that seem to sprout up at night, as if by magic, at city intersections, all over town.  Its free advertising, mainly for companies wanting to make a quick buck at someone else's expense. What if every legitimate company in Charlotte placed its advertising sign on any of the Charlotte right of ways. Eventually, there would be no green grassy strip visible from any intersection within the city limits. Furthermore, think of all of the taxpayers money spent to collect/or remove these thousands of signs every week.  They simply seen to spring up without warning (or permission) in the middle of the night.
 Therefore, on the evening preceeding the opening day of Charlotte Yard Art, I will place over a hundred sample signs that I have collected over the past year to give but a small sample of the scourge that has befallen our beautiful city. I do this as a protest to the willful and unauthorized placement of said signs at our intersections on the city's right of way, Perhaps this will be a kickstart for the city to deny the use of their property to support "I'll buy any car" or "I'll lower your tax burden" or "We can make you a better man with one little pill".  I think the populace has seen enough.  I know that I have !
